brickNblock replied to urbanangler1990's topic in General Discussion
I'd say it was worth it. What a great photo......Says it all. That pic rates right up there with BPSBassman's(Rogers) SMILING musky shot. -
All went very well Wayne.........The motor maybe a 2001 but I recieved the paperwork on it. Its only had break-in hours on it since it was rebuilt....(2007) All new: Pistions /Ring kits. Fuel Pump and lmtr Water Pump Cylinder sleeve Shaft AY: Propeller Gearset 13:26 Shifter..much, much more....$6219 in repairs. Basically the motor is brand new and reading on the paperwork rated closer to 130hp. I dont know....Its what it says..either way Im happy with the way it purred when it was fired up. As for pics.....Your right guys. Charmaine has plans to scrub'er down later today. Ill get pics then......too long a drive yesterday. Thanks for everyones congrats. bNb Fishnsled was witness to my lack of backing up qualities last year and I was dreading doing just that when I got home. Well, I got stuck in a small town intersection in Washago and had to turn the rig around early..... Wow.heart pounding...traffic being held up...what a surprise....I did it first shot just as explained so often by Dawg. The only diff was the "...the clouds never opened up with the sun shining right on me and singing angels above stuff"..lol

Well, We've been looking and looking. Having lost our boat some years back and then selling our last tinny to a member here about 3 years back we clawed our way back up..... Last year we got ourselves another tinny......(We are keeping it) Today we picked up our final boat...I think...Love it anyway. PrinceCraft SuperPro 176...w/princecraft trailer. 2001 - 115 Johson ELPTO 2003 - LongShaft 76lb w/ PT..MinnKota w/ m.k OnBoard 2 bank charger. Custom travel/engine covers Stand up top w/side and back'rear curtains 3 batteries Lowrance sonars/temp/speed. It's loaded w/other great stuff......... Anyhoo....it's paid for in full and sitting in the driveway right now. Insured for replacement value....(Boat/Motor/Trailer/Trolling Motor and accessories) CAA gold + w/RV. We're covered..unless someone pipes in with additional coverage we should have. Wont be doing as much 'lunge' action this year as hoped but have prety much concentrated on the walleye population of where we live for this year as a starter. Ive added 'DAWGS" boat launching etiqette to 'MyFavourites" on the desktop here and figure were good to go. Look for us out on the Bay of Quinte....Daily, 2008 bNb

brickNblock replied to KyleM's topic in General Discussion
There was a member here I havent seen in a few years now from Pennsyvania. His board name was Phil. Phil new almost all of the movement and life spans of larger musky from studies in the Kawarthas.A Try googling: Casselman/muskies as well Its a start for you anyway. -
Hey Bud..... I loved the 2 in the last pic on the lower right The chartruese and the Blk/w,white w/the eye. I hope they do great for ya....... I fished the tribs most of my life........ Normally I just used worms til I got a few damged females to tie roe.l Fished yarn for the longest time as well. One of my fav's was the woolley-buggar When I got hooked by the lunge bug too my surprise one of the first I ever caught was on a 11" wooleyBuggar I tied myself......(approx2oz) Actually ,most of my selftied inlines are just larger versions of the smaller trout flies. Its a wonderful world when things meet like that> Nice flies CzHk..... best of luck in the south with them. bNb

I dont normally post hype or self gratifying info .. But just felt I had to and wanted to post this.. Had an agreement to meet up with Mark today at BPS.. He had a full schedule as it was but made the appointment with us on time. We exchanged the usual pleastenries and it turned into one of those situations where you just wished you had more time. We spoke about all canadian content and where their show is headed and what not and more.... Sounds like one heck of a season to come and I for one are looking forward to it. We havent fished together yet but I know it is a foregone conclusion... We will be...... Thanks Mark......it made the topper of the day! Take Care..Speak soon. Peter

Thanks for the heads up Mark.... Tekota is what I wanted..need a few for sure still, but got lucky today. Skevy's BaitNtackle in Belleville are moving across the street to the marina and have a darn near 50% sale going on with what is left. Today I picked up 2 LC reels. Okuma Convector and Magda for the total price of $ 71.00 He doesnt have much left but I think the prices might be falling even more befor ethe weeks out when he moves. Sad thing tho..... he's dropped his Shimmano and StCroix line of rods and will be selling only Okuma and Kistler from here on in. A mite to costly for this fella. GoodLuck muskyMike.

Anybody shopping BPS Thursday Evening?

.....the nerve of you. Has lLeah seen that pic. I know you've got the plastic hidden somewhere Wayne. -
Anton.... Never go anywhere without a selection of jig heads in various weights and colours. A basic jig tipped with a 6" white twister tail has caught me several pike at the islands and they're deadly and in-expensive. Silver spoons/Xraps are also very good at different times...must haves. Make sure you have a steel leader..w/quality snaps........You dont want to be dissapointed with a bite off. Man....I'm hoping your outing is successful. Really looking forward to your report. Be safe out there Anton.....do you have any release tools? A FIRST pike can be intimidating....you dont want any hook harm to yourself or the fish. Jaw Spreaders-Needlenose pliers-Cutters for sure. Best of luck fella! bNb

My Calcutta is a 401....cast w/right and reel left. My Abu6500 C3 I cast right then switch (unnoticably) and crank right. I think it because of the placement of the thumb bar...... Also have found that I have lost quick fish with the Abu possibly from changing hands but I think more because I find the casting lever awkward after spending so much time with the calcutta. I mainly use the Abu for trolling now due to this. All my spinning gear is left hand retrieve.

thanks for your replies fellas.. Im getting the idea that insurance..'APART' from the other insurances is the way to go from what Ive read thus far. I didnt realize that there are marine'ONLY' insurances.... I'll get in touch with judst that.... Thanks again for your valued input, bNb

I could use some assistance in getting pointed in the right direction towards insuring a boat. Coverage Im curious about are: Liabilities/all parties Trailering/Launching/boarding Accidents/Sinking Motor overboard Theft/Damage/Fire/Explosion.....to Boat/Motor/Accessories. Trailer malfunction while towing. Secondly, Is it best to: Insure through your homeownership policy. Auto insurance....(its different) or....separate alltogether. We currently have CAA (gold+) and will upgrade to include boat/trailer as a side protection. I know theres a great resource of information here at OFC and your opinions and experiences in this are welcomed. Thanks, bNb

Roy is all knowing my friend.

try and look up MuskyBill here on the board. I believed he joined MuskiesCanada about 2 years ago. They do have a website you know. I, myself would have joined but the meetings are much to far away for me and I think without the meetings it would not be as beneficial. Its a start right.

Lew.....I get material from Staminainc and RollienHellens and usually only about 17% of my total cost total..and it is shipped by post. Best of luck with yours Bud.

This brought back a few memories for sure...... it was back around '66... Out in the old BayRidges part of Pickering at a Mac'sMilk we all lined up to get a free hockey stick signed by Keon and I believe a young Mike Walton.... After recieving our sticks we all raced home and played road hockey til we wore them sticks out. If only we knew better.... Thanks for the memory
