good luck! I only ever fish there for musky (which are currently out of season...although it sounds like some are active!) so I have no advice for you. Hope you can get into some nice fish tomorrow to salvage your trip. Down south of gannons narrows the lake is much shallower. My kids always caught a million bluegill and perch when we go worm and bobber

Ouch. Keep at it, try some new things. Sounds like Hartley Bay is a decent spot so maybe you were just there at a bad time or maybe you were using the wrong techniques. There are plenty of good spots within a few hours of Toronto...spots where you can "limit out" within an hour or two. Spend some more time on the water and you will find them. Sorry I have not been to Nosbonsing so can't comment on that fishery, but right next door is Nipissing and I have not had problems catching fish when I go there.

if the water just came in thru a seal, and your garage didnt get too ridiculously cold (ie it is attached to the house) it might not be too big a deal. Just my thoughts.

nice! I have fixed numerous rods....they just keep getting shorter. Between 4 young boys, friends at the cottage and me slamming them in a car door I have at least 1 or 2 a year that need repair. Feel different? Who knows. They all still catch fish. Buddy in Guelph fixes em for a few bucks.

I was up in the Hanover area yesterday. The lake I looked at was fully iced over. Hit it with a sledge hammer...inch and a half of ice.

when I was 2 my parents would only give me a stick with string on it (no hook). At the time we lived on the shores of Erie. Apparently some older kids would distract me, then one would tie a sheephead (drum) to the line. I would then drag that sheephead around all day. Don't remember any of this but I guess that was the start.

wow those are some old batteries! Got your money's worth on those. In addition to a tester I would be proactive and just replace them rather than have a day ruined due to faulty battery

in those photos is that a weight stuck on the end? I generally fish them weightless, although in the past if I did fish bass later in the year I would throw a split shot 2 feet above the bait. Wasn't crazy about that set up but it got the bait a bit deeper without the wait. This weight stuck on the end (looks like a jig head with the curved part of the hook snapped off) would be a better idea.

I had a bunch of friends (4 boats) out for musky yesterday on a couple different lakes. They went 2 for 4 as a group, so not the worst day ever but not one for the ages either.
