  1. nice! That's why multi day trips are so key if you can take them. One day they are on and the next they arent
  2. have you been? I head up next week to give it a shot
  3. wow...beauties
  4. buying nice sized minnows for ice fishing can get costly. When we have had a bad day and have lots of bait left I have joked to my buddies about selling them on marketplace. Guess I shouldn't do that!
  5. Amazing fish. As a guy who likes to target musky in the fall I hate these gorgeous days. The less comfortable I am in the elements the more likely I am to catch multiple. Rule of thumb...if my partner has a trail of snot coming out his nose and he can't feel it because he is frozen stiff from being pelted with snow or sleet...we are nailing em.
  6. beauty. Red sky at morning...did it end up being a terrible day for boaters?
  7. ...fyi that small outboard is a 2 stroke
  8. Does your boat see a lot of activity? If so I would do it all anyways. I have a small outboard that doesn't see much use (3-5 hours a season) and I store it in the basement. With that one sometimes all I do is run some stabilizer through the gas, spray some fogging oil into the air intake while its running and haul'er downstairs. Change the seals maybe every 3 rd year. Is it the best idea? Maybe not but I have had it 8 years and its doing fine.
  9. Great job! Didn't have to say that was on Pigeon....the houseboat in the background is all I needed to see to know it!
  10. Thanks for the update. Time enjoying creation with the boys is always great even if the fishing is so so
  11. better idea. Balsam used to be my go to lake until 20 years ago when I started catching just as many pike as muskies. Figured that was the beginning of the end for musky in Balsam
  12. very nice! Some great footage there.
  13. I have never stayed at that resort but know people who have, and they have gone more than once so it must be at least acceptable! Lots of musky at the top end of Pigeon and mid october is a great time to be after them. You should have a great time!
  14. I saw one of those in my garden last year for the first time. Freaked me out a bit for sure. I dang well stayed clear of it. Harmless or not, big spiders are kinda gross (in my opinion...there may be some weirdos out there who are enthralled by them)
  15. have driven past it a couple of times and it looks very nice (the colour of the water caught me eye). Has this trip happened? How did it go?
  16. what's that line...better to ask forgiveness than permission
  17. As many probably know, the fishing has been ridiculously good on Lake Ontario this year. Things seemed to have slowed down a bit lately - back to a normal level. I don't do many fishing reports anymore but here you go. We launched at Fisherman's Pier this morning and fished our way over to Bronte. In around 5 hours fishing we went 5 for 9, including this beast that weighed in just over 22 pounds and hit in 120 feet of water. Water temps on the surface were a balmy 74 degrees.
  18. some do 6000 litres some do more
  19. uggg. people are the worst. Wonder how much water these bombers pick up...sounds like a time for google...
  20. pretty cool. Risky proposition though! Better make sure the line on the 2nd rod has no weak spots!
  21. rats....of course nothing close to me
  22. that spot looks amazing
  23. not saying it will work for you, but I had a powerdrive that conked out last year. Found a webpage that gave me a weird sequence of events...involved rotating the prop manually etc etc and no word of a lie it started up again. Been fine ever since. Something about some magnets or something...no clue what I was doing but it works again
  24. sounds like a blast
  25. could hook a minnow on there.
