When I was looking for a boat I found Smoker Craft had some very wide models...but they lacked in other details. I ended up buying an Alumacraft...not as wide but far more sturdy. Neighbour of mine bought the Smoker craft I had considered and he is not overly pleased with how it handles

I trust nobody. Lures, rods, net, fishfinder even trolling motor all get locked up in the cottage or truck if I overnight somewhere. That truly sucks....hope these guys somehow make a vacation out of this still

Well apparently Dad was more excited than the kids about this....they each gave it a couple of half hearted tries (and only because they were bribed with promises of ice cream). Neither got up but I would think it was more due to lack of interest than speed of boat

I just don't understand people. Why would anyone throw garbage on the ground? Or out your car window? Clean your own dang mess up people, don't be such an arrogant slob that you expect someone else to look after it. Boggles my mind that people do stuff like this. nice! 7hp Johnson is pretty small. This is a 8hp Nissan on a 12 footer. I imagine the second child in the bow as spotter should be enough to way bow down

ya I was thinking about weighing down the bow. Years ago I had a 12 year old waterskiing behind a 9.9 on a jon boat. This is a smaller engine, slightly heavier boat, but smaller kid as well. I'm thinking might be close! If they knew how to ski I bet it could be done. Since this is there first shot I am not sure

Do you think its possible for a lightweight child? Just got some trainer skis for my 7 year old and 9 year old...think they could ski behind an 8 hp on a tinnie?

I only fished there one time. I do remember some bass being caught around the islands, and a big honkin pike that only made it to boatside

The mister twister was a fantastic discovery I made around 40 years ago. As a kid my "opa" and I always trolled for pike using Williams Wobblers. One day I saw a Mr. Twister with a little silver spinner in his tackle box...an early precursor to a "spinner bait". I decided to troll that thing...outfished Grandpa so bad he soon switched. Both of us trolling Beetle Spins or whatever the heck they called em. I don't use them anymore, but it sure taught me spinnerbaits catch fish

Well the decision got sped up...turns out Rona was having a scratch and save this weekend. Couldn't turn that down. Unfortunately I only scratched 15% off...but its better than nothing!

ya horseshoe is a nice lake. Couple of shoals to watch out for. Fished there years ago the guy at the marina (at that time) gave me a rough map of lake showing shoals. There are some big pike in there too. I will send you a pm
