  1. Good stuff Lew and Pete, glad to hear you got into a couple of fish, more glad you got out of there safely!
  2. how about downriggers (this coming from a guy who has never used one) and underwater cameras
  3. man oh man where will it end! I've got a 36 inch novelty Rapala lure (in firetiger I might add), I think I'm going to try trolling it tomorrow. Tie it off to the transom and troll it for a few minutes in the prop wash!
  4. I'll be finding some smaller waters than the actual Bay itself (ie moon, magnetewan, etc) or some other offshoot.
  5. wow, that's a beauty pike. At that size, I'd actually enjoy it rather than the usual "dang pike" reaction
  6. I've been toying with that idea the past few days, but the wind might have something to say about that. Right now the game plan is to find some rocky points at the mouths of bays and see if I can bounce a believer or hooker off bottom. Got a real nice custom bait from Robin as well that will get me down there, I'm sure it will get some water time over the next 2 days. I've never had the patience to troll, but I don't see a lot of casting in my future tomorrow!
  7. not so fast...I'm hoping there are still a muskie or 5 out there with my name on it. I'm fishing the next 2 days up GBay way, then after that its 2 or 3 trips on the upper niagara before the boat goes away
  8. I wish my friends would do that...usually they smack the lure off of me. I've been beaned by spoons, cranks, jig n pig and last week got smacked by a grandma
  9. I'm going musky fishing the next 2 days and with the cold weather we've had I imagine the water temps might be under 50 degrees by now. Personally, I've had my best success in the 57-62 degree range, not sure if I've ever even got one when the water is under 50. What I'm hoping to hear is great success stories from people catching when the water dips below 50. So tell me some things that will boost my confidence for the next two days (or tell me I'm nuts and I should stay home)
  10. I'm taking my 16 footer musky fishing Wednesday...guess I'll be sticking to some sheltered bodies of water! Although I prefer to cast, looks like tomorrow is definitely a trolling day. Won't even need the motor
  11. Reminds me of when I took an Asian friend deep sea fishing on a party boat off the Florida coast. Soon after we got on the boat some crotchety older woman kept shouting out "who brought the banana". My friend was getting visibly angry. Apparently "banana" is a term for Asians who were more North American than, in his case, Chinese...."yellow on the outside, white on the inside". Man was he miffed at this woman, until I pointed out the literal banana on the bench beside her and explained the whole "banana in the boat superstition"
  12. going to an '80's reunion?
  13. like him or hate him, he's found a niche in the league
  14. tee hee, first time for me too
  15. seven follows sounds like a great day! Sheesh I feel my day is a success if I can raise one (guess I have pretty low expectations when I'm musky fishing). No comment on the banana, no superstitions here.
  16. the missing link...Link Gaetz
  17. dang dial up, took me 5 minutes to see the first 4 seconds (it wasn't too funny so I decided to exit rather than wait 10 hours for the rest of the clip)
  18. hahaha this post is killing me, danbo you've had some beauties here. In all seriousness though I bet it was Roy in his yellow cardigan. Usually it is tied around his shoulders, but on a cold night he wears it proudly.
  19. I remember the outcry when Kordic was given #27 because of some of the great players (see above) who had worn it before. Kordic wearing that number was even worse than Wilf Paiement donning #99...although that was ill-advised as well
  20. ouch, rough day. Any idea what the water temps were?
  21. greatest Leaf to ever wear #27...the late great Johnny Kordic
  22. Tiger Williams?
  23. ouch! brings back memories from this summer when my 2 year old fell on a supershadrap. Makes for memories, but not too fun while you're going through it.
  24. very nice fish!
  25. I hear you. At least you had beautiful weather with lots of fish to help dull the pain
