  1. Thanks for the info. I have tried mostly in the 2ft range with no luck just bluegills.
  2. I decided Monday morning at about 8 am I would try again to fish the north end of pigeon. Checked the weather and it said all clear till about 3pm. The key was southwest winds to 30 km. I figured no problem as I was going to launch over by bald lake and the waves won't be very big there. Any way to make a long story short I fished from 11am till 4pm and found no crappie again. I caught lots of bluegill and a couple of tornados. Tried deep in 22 feet and all the way in to a marina. I marked alot of fish in 15 ft of water down about 6 ft. I put the camera down to see what it was that wasn't biting my jig and sure enough they were bluegills. Water Temps at the shallow 3ft to about 4ft was 56 degrees and out deeper water was 50 degrees. Will try again maybe thursday. I'm starting to think maybee i'm not too good at this crappie thing. I've fished for them for over 20 years and this is definately the worst I've done. Thanks to those who have tried to help. A bad day fishing well you know the rest.
  3. Fished from 10am till 3pm monday. Launched at nogies creek. water temp in the creek was 49 deg. Just past the bridge water temp was 41 deg. checked all the shallow bays and docks and couldn't find water above 44 deg. This time I brought my lowrance and camera and thought no problem I'll find em deeper. Needless to say all I found were muskies resting on bottom. I fished the whole north end from Nogies over to the bald lake narrows. I didn't see one crappie shallow or deep. Think I'll wait another week befor I go again. I did read on another board that a guy caught about 30 or so in 4 feet of water at the mouth of a bay. I tried.
  4. Took the boat out for the first time on Pigeon lake on Thursday. There is no ice anywhere on the north end where i fished. Fished from nogies creek down to the two little islands. Tried all shorelines, marinas, trailer parks. No crappies present in the shallows. I did see some bluegills and lots of largemouth and 1 muskie. I couldn't really fish the deeper water as my lowrance wasn't working. Was a great day otherwise.
  5. Thanks for all the info everyone. I hope to try it this week and if I get out I'll let you know how it went.
  6. Would like to launch up near fenelon falls to fish lake sturgeon. Does anyone know where i could launch free or for pay. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Will report when i get back
  7. Thanks for all the info I recieved. I ended up going to balm beach area and had quite the adventure. Trolled for about 3 hours with a planer board and snap weight and nk. and downrigged with a nk mag monkeypuke. Got one salmon about 12 pounds. 54 feet down over 80 ft of water. Then the fun started. The motor died and wouldn't restart. 3 to 4 ft waves from the south were pushing us quickly toward christian Island. Anyway to make a long story short after several hours of starting and stopping we made it back to balm beach. Last time I go in my cousins boat.
  8. Thanks for the info. My name is Scott Cunningham I do plan on staying around for a while. While I'm not very good around a computer I will try and post if I get the chance to go fishing. It takes me a while to type all this in one letter at a time. As for pictures I don't have a digital camera nor would I know where to begin to put a picture on this site. I just got remarried in June of 08 and my fishing time has been cut into a tenth of what it was. I have 4 girls from 19 to 10 years old. I work 80 hours a week and bought a fixer upper Duh. I went ice fishing 3 times for the year on lake simcoe. I fish for everything except Muskie. My favourite fish is Steelhead/walleye but I really just love to fish and be out there on the water. This letter took me about a half hour to type but I think I'm getting better already. Ha Ha.
  9. Hi all first time user and first post. Just wondering if anyone can point me to a good spot to fish. I have riggers for salmon/trout but if it's not a good time than what area for walleye bass or pike. I'm not looking for your best spots just general areas. It will be first time up there. I'm moving a buddy early tomorrow and might as well bring the boat. Lol
