  1. I should either get my head checked for being (and admitting) a Leafs fan or consult anger management therapy. LOL. Oh well. I am glad I don't take this stuff really seriously.
  2. If you plan to keep fiddleheads, the best bet is to blanch them, bottle them with the water you blanched with, top up with water, salt then boil the bottles. I can't wait to pick up my bottles while home on vacation to NB in June. To serve... Bring the fiddleheads to a boil, cover and turn the burner off and serve in about 5 mins or so. Generously drown with butter and add salt, pepper and/or vinegar - as desired. Best served with Atlantic Salmon or speckled trout.
  3. I think I'll go cook some smelts...
  4. Thanks. Now I need a midnight snack.
  5. Way to go! Looks like you had lots of fun. That's what it's all about.
  6. May the best of your past be the worst of your future. Happy Birthday.
  7. Fair enough. My suggestions: - continue to keep your hand on the bottom of the wheel - go slow whether it's speed backing up or turning the wheel. Quick lefts and rights move fast. - if you need to occassionally pull slightly ahead from time to time to straighten out, go for it - dont worry much about the other guys. They have all been there before. You'll be a pro in no time.
  8. LOL. Never any shortage of feedback.
  9. Good times. Probably a highlight for the kids. Awesome.
  10. Good advice Skipper. It's surprising sometimes to see people back up their expensive boats and trailers. The best tip I got related to this topic was from my old man when I was a punk. Put your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. Move your hand in the direction you want the arse end of the trailer to move.
  11. I only go to BPS once a year. In my case, each visit is enjoyable an they have what I need and more. Perhaps my needs are basic compared to what others are going for. May I've been lucky.
  12. And not one hockey puck or pun was thrown.
  13. Darn. Maybe the poster should have included the newspaper of the day in his pictures. I didn't immediately assume the fish were out of season. I am not familiar with the area and would not be able to determine if caught in a non-fishing zone. Nice fish though!
  14. Awesome fishing report!
  15. What a crying shame. Thoughts to family and friends. As a snowmobiler, I hear of similar accidents every year. Meaning, young (or foolish - not saying this was the case) folk heading out eager at either the start or end of the season to enjoy their past time. In a lot of cases, undue risks are unknowingly or naively taken. It's just too bad.
  16. No Skeeter. The unit needs to be submerged. Rain will not trigger it.
  17. Great memories created. Love it.
  18. LOL. But remember... you are in fine form for next weekend Skipper. Good luck this year.
  19. I have a Auto/manual from Crappy Tire. I think it's a Nautilus. Good unit until I used the CO2. Couldn't find a replacement cartridge. Rumour has it that most marinas carry most replacement cartridges or can at least order them in. Nice units. Better on then stowed away. You get used to wearing them quite quickly.
  20. Joeytier: you're bang on. Tip of the hat to you, sir.
  21. The weather was awesome this weekend. Got a few things done around the yard and had a couple bbqs.
  22. Everyone needs one of these. Else a jet pack!
  23. I am 10 mins away from Angling Outfitters near Woodstock. It's almost Heavenly (I imagine at least). BPS is nice amusement stop for me when in Toronto. Sometime good deals but not my primary reason to burn gas to Toronto.
  24. I did the same and was quite happy.
  25. Nope. East coast trucker. Just a practical handy fella and had lots of phrases to share. Don't dare sharing some of them or I could be on the MOD q. LOL
