  1. Mary has passed on too , the lodge is now owned by a local lady , she's not doing much with it , she only had one cabin open this year .
  2. Okimot is still there , you'll enjoy your stay The hosts are great folk ... Benny used to own the next lodge over ,Camp Tomiko ...
  3. Walleye is extremely tough to find in winter , there are very BIG Walleye there ... as for Benny , he's been gone for about 13 yrs now ...
  4. crazy isn't it ? *** just re-read the whole thing again , "record" is in reference to the rack , not the Bull , there are far bigger Bulls out there than 1200 lbs.
  5. I've been told by a CO , that there are talks about taking photos , say you stumble upon a game animal , it's fine to take a picture ... but .. If you intentionally stalk the game to take it's photo it could be considered hunting and a stiff fine could be laid on the photographer . That's a nice Bull , 1250 lbs .. dunno how that would be a record .
  6. I have a Gerber and a Shrade ,razor sharp and solid , the cat's horse , the ones I reach for the most are my trusty Rapala and an old Fiskars Flex ... dunno why? I just like them .. When they get dull , a quick do over with the SpeedySharp and they're like new .. Good Luck !
  7. I got a new pair of glasses yesterday , they're already broken , my wife's best friend Darlene sat on them ... It's all my fault , I should've taken them off .
  8. Sprinkle Cinnamon powder and grounf Cayenne pepprr all over the place , worked for me , no more Stray Cats , Racacoons or Skunks .
  9. So you'll be on the Upper French / Nip side of things , find structure in 25FOW near shallow reefs ( look at the hydro map ) use a jig&trailer tipped with a worm or single jig tipped with a DACE or Leech and you're in the money , it's another banner year for Nipissing, cast the adjacent shallow water at dusk for the mommas , Husky Jerks work well, good luck.
  10. Her classmates and teacher really lijked her story ... we printed the picture before she left for school ... We're going back on Thursday evening ... she loves fishing .
  11. Two aliens crossing the Arizona desert arrived at a gas station that was closed for the night. They approached one of the gas pumps and the younger Alien addressed it saying :- "Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace. Take us to your leader." The gas pump, of course, didn't respond. The younger alien became angry at the lack of response. The older alien said, 'I'd calm down if I were you.' The younger alien ignored the warning and repeated his greeting. Again, there was no response. P-s-ed off at the pump's haughty attitude, he drew his ray gun and said gruffly, "Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace. Take us to your leader or I will fire!" The older alien again warned his comrade saying, 'You probably don't want to do that. I really think that will make him mad.' 'Rubbish,' replied the cocky, young alien. He aimed his weapon and opened fire. There was a huge explosion. A massive fireball roared towards him and blew the younger alien off his feet and threw him in a burnt, smoking mess about 200 yards away, butt first in a cactus patch. Half an hour passed. When he finally regained consciousness, he refocused his three eyes, straightened his bent antenna, and looked dazedly at the older, wiser alien who was standing over him shaking his big, green head. 'What a ferocious creature!' exclaimed the young, fried alien. 'He damn near killed me! How did you know he was so dangerous?' The older alien leaned over, placed a friendly feeler on his crispy friend and replied, 'If there's one thing I've learned during my intergalactic travels, you never mess about with a guy who can loop his penis over his shoulder twice and then stick it in his ear!'.
  12. Now that's cool , like Bernie , I've never seen them that small Nice Bass !
  13. I took Megan out for a few casts after supper tonight , the Walleye are starting to come up the river .. Here's the tale , Megan caught a Walleye 12" or so , then a Pike about 25" attacked the Walleye .. No biggie right? Here's the part I've never seen or heard of before in my almost 40 years of fishing, a Muskie 40" or more came along nailing and swimming away with both the Pike and the Walleye , so Megan had a food chain on her line , Minnow , Walleye , Pike and a Muskie all at once , the Muskie got away with the Pike and Megan got away with the Walleye ... one happy little Fishergirl ! Pike with Walleye in mouth Victim. and another Walleye. All in all Megan caught 2 Walleye a decent Smallie , and got to see something she ( we ) might NEVER see again ! A great memory made tonight Randy

The message hasn't changed and is just as relevant today because we, collectively, still have not stepped back from the brink

  14. As for weight ( please nobody throw rocks at me ) I would hazard a guess and think it's safe to assume 43-46 lbs ,maybe more , without the girth nobody knows ... really .. it doesn't matter ! It's without a doubt a nuclear sub !
  15. Wow ! Congrats , fish of a lifetime for sure ! .. what a tank
  16. Top load all the way , we gave away a perfect Inqlis TL and dryer so we could keep up with the Jonses by buying a FL Whirlpool and a matching dryer ... 2x POS ... Washing machine lasted 2 yrs and the dryer kept blowing the tensioner ... we lucked out and got our old appliances back , they run like the day they were built in 1995. We also have a FL at work it's always broken . My 2¢
