i have used them for years !!! never had any problems with them or because of using them,and they do protect your motor from bouncing

not sure on how old your unit is but on some of the older lowrance lms series if you didnt have the waas enabled it would not find your present location very well and would cut in and out,as well cause its an internal antenae make sure the unit is as verticle as possible not leaned bak on a slant as most of the antenae is on the top,my lowrance was like that too,and that was about 5 years ago ??/ just shootin out ideas for you too try ??/

Go get an old salty down east rod holder !!! Alot of salmon and Muskie guys use them they are bullet proof and last forever all steel to and fully adjustable !!! They make 2 styles !!!! About $40 each !!!!! Google it and see they are quick release to by just lifting your rod up and out !!! That one you made will explode when you are going northbound and a 42inch Muskie is going southbound !!!! And you will lose it all !!!!!

I got my hero2 at royal distributing in December for$299 reg price was $349 so it was a great deal and I went and bought all the accessories other than the LCD screen. And it's awesome in everyway I have about 100 snowmobile videos and it works great they also now have a model you can carry in a backpack if you go to their website it shows everything !!! And I had a Helmut mout on me all winter so my unit was in the snow all winter and it's 100 % waterproof !!! If you go to vectordevil on YouTube you can see some of my sled vid clips !!! It's unlimited what you can do with the gopro 2 and the hd is great but for sure get a second battery and the bag of extra mounts and you will be able to mount it everywhere !!!!
