Well I am a perfectionist when it comes to cleaning fish !!! Seeing how I learned very young from my grandpa when he owned a fishing lodge !! And bones in the fish were not an option and I have cleaned thousands !!!! I used to get 25 cents per fish !!!! And what he taught me the most was that you must have a super,super sharp knife !!!!!! And regardless what fish species you are cleaning it will make the job a lot easier !!!!!! A top quality knife make it like a surgeons scalpel and go to it !!!!!

I have been on both Eagan and happy days I would prefer happy days but both were nice and the problem now for you might be that they are all booked up !!!!! You can check their website and lean more but you will enjoy it and have fun !!!! If you or any of your friends have small tinny boat it would be even better to tow it around and use it as the fishing boat and the big houseboat as the base !!! First factor in where you want to go as they will eat gas for sure and it will be a big chunk of your money if you want to go up or down the system of lakes hope this helps. Osprey at her nest !!!! She just brought a fish to feed her 2 young ones and this is the closest I could get and yes I know it's a lousy pic !!! But I see them all the time and I watch her Grab fish from the lake ...so I just took it with my iPhone so to compare it with your pics !!!! Lol....lol just joking around ..... Cheers Shawn

White suckers are the most common I believe !!! And the red horse !!!!! My grandmother used to put pickling salt dill and garlic in it if I remember correctly I wonder if there is still any recipes out there as my grandparents are no longer alive so I never got the scoop on how to make them ?? She also would make fish-cakes too !!!!! Being lodge owners they would feed 20people a day so there was always many ways to cook and eat fish !!!!!

I sure see some great wildlife/scenery when I'm fishing all over but most of the time things are too far away for an iPhone !!! LOL did anyone here take a course or was it all just trial and error and many hours spent in the field/lakes & rivers ???

Same here !!! I am going on a weeks fishing trip in 2 weeks and rain or shine I'm fishin .... So I just prepare for both sides of the weather coin !!!! Bring shorts but prepare for snow !!!! And I'm all good bases covered !!!!

I second bill as well that's the 2 chips I run in both my bow unit and rear unit !!!! Hot maps shows detailed contour and the gold is great as well with loads of detail too !!!! And if you ever change units those will work in others as well !!!! But the platinum won't run in all units something to think about !!!! Cheers

Trilene big game is great line !!!! Have been using it for 20yrs !!!! The great thing about big game is you can always drop down a size and not usually have to worry its tough and stands up great especially for trolling I find !!!! But as Brian said aka misfish I used ande line for years too and it was always great too ....

Even when I read the thread I thought it must be a guy towing a sailboat !!!! It happens quite a bit actually they are famous for hitting bridges as well !!! Ya and I bet he gets a nice bill for that as a pole is about $3,000 not to mention the wires the road closed for a day or so !!!!!! It's not gonna be one of his better days that's for sure !!! Lol

it used to be pretty common years ago,to can pickled suckers !!! in the spring, the americans used to come up to my grandparents fishing lodgein bobcaygeon and go crazy for them....i remember it well as a kid....not sure how many people do it anymore....and i know guys that can salmon from lake ontario as well....
