Cops came took pics and did a report seen the damage and the deer and called me a tow truck and gave me info to give to my insurance company pretty easy actually !!!! -

What's the craziest bait you've ever used to fish with?
fishindevil replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
I caught a 2 lb walleye on a topwater jitterbug on the petawawa river !!!!!!! He actually hit it about a second after it hit the water along a steep breaking Rock wall !!!! I think he must have been pushing bait up against the rock wall and was right under my bait when it hit the water about 3 feet from the rocks !!!! And yes I landed him !!!! I have also caught lots of perch and gills on a bare hook before when I was a kid !!! We would also use grasshoppers when we could catch them have used gum as well to catch mud cats too when I was a kid -
yes for sure !!!!! i agree...

I'm looking for an ice fishing tip, stocked lakers
fishindevil replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
So if I was to fish smaller shield lakes like the above lakes don't hesitate to fish a lot shallower too !!! The trout will come in to chase down small fish and they love to eat perch we even caught nice trout just off weed beds while ice fishing in the same depth water 15-20 feet or so !!!! -

I have a little story about 15 yrs of lake trout fishing in the Bancroft/ mcarthur mills area for lake trout !!!!!! My bud lives on a small trout lake up there and we would put his hut on top of a sort of weedy rocky muddy shoal in about 15-20 feet of water adjacent to the part of the shoal that drops very steep down to about 120feet deep and we would look down the hole and see tons of perch so the game was to keep the perch from taking your minnow or small grub and this would continue over and over then all of a sudden the perch would litterally vanish like in a split second and sure enough within another second or 2 there were the lakers !!!!!!!!!!! It was unreal !!!!! Your heart would almost stop and you are now looking down the hole watching a 5-10lb laker cruising around our baits !!!!! Sometimes they would hit right away sometimes just swim by !!!!!!!!! If they did within 30 seconds the perch were back and the game was on again !!!!!!! We did this for at least 15 winters and he still does it to this day !!!! Sometimes the trout would stare at the minnow for several seconds and then hit or sometimes just swim away it was called heart attack fishing cause it would all happen so fast !!!!!!! So it was actually a fishing game of keep away from the perch ..... It was awesome and over all those years we learned the smaller baits and grubs alwYs caught more fish !!!! But to see a 10lb laker swimming 15 feet below your hole in crystal clear water checking your minnow out was sure exciting !!!!!! -
Need some info on boat size vs max towing capacity
fishindevil replied to hotsky's topic in General Discussion
Well back in 1991 when I got married my wife had a Honda civic and I bought a 14ft tinny with a 15hp and trailer !!!! I pulled that boat all over the place with it for 2 full years of fishing and all different ramp types and it worked fine just be easy and don't over load it !!! And I checked with the dealer and my mechanic and it was good to go and it wasn't very heavy with a tongue weight of I think 26 lbs !!!!! The front wheel drive helped the most as mike said some ramps you could not get it in all the way so a little bit of muscle and you were good to go !!!! I had it even down at quinte launches and was great total weight I guess guess for boat motor trailer & gear 500-600lbs we took it up to termagani camping & fishing did it all with a Honda civic !!!! Hahah lol ... Ahhhh memories -
Well I sure have been looking for snowy owls this winter as I know lots of people are seeing them and taking some amazing pics of them so thanks to ofc member Joey sent me a website that shows recent sittings of snowy owls in Ontario I seen there was a few around me here on sturgeon lake and one near oakwood on my way home from work !!! I pulled over and snapped a few pics from my phone before he flew away !!!! But I'm happy I finnally seen one as I have been looking so hard to see one !!!! Another NF Hydro One topic - Late/no bills.
fishindevil replied to Rod Caster's topic in General Discussion
Typical of hydro !! The problems are never ending and good to see the media is all over them about all the horror stories and wrong billing !!! And they say that problems are almost impossible to solve they are all crooked pr:ck$ and cause a lot of grief to people who don't deserve it .... -
well i thought it was a sundog, but a snow squall just blew through and only that side had a rainbow,it was alot bigger but by the time i got to the lake it was subsiding but it was very impressive for a few mins !!!
