Haliburton highlands and area is the coldest lake temps in years in some lakes what weeds are there like cabbage is dying already !!!!! We had lake temps of 64-65 yesterday !!!!! It's been a roller coaster this summer that's for sure !!!!!

I have fished so many times in the rain & wind this summer !!!! Like yesterday it was 11 degrees and pouring rain and I fished in it for 10hrs !!!! And way up north where I was lake temps were only 64-65 degrees !!! It sure has affected the fishing as well !!! It's hard to get on a program as it's changing all the time !!! Well I sure have had to adapt this year for sure as the lake of weeds scold water & high water earlier in July have changed fish patterns especially bass !!!! My buddy & I have referred to it as "the grind" just have to stay at it and constantly change presentations well at least for inland lakes in central Ontario and the highlands !!!!

It's only a few mins off hwy 41 and not out of the way at all the lake is decent size and like I said there are many options in the area Hope this helps Fish-on. Cheers

Just heard on the news actor/comedian robin Williams was found in his home dead in an apparent suicide !!!! That's too bad for sure .... He was a funny man I'm sure there will be more details as the media is all over this

Navionics does it and it works great !!! But yes google earth as well for the lakes that are not on navionics or hot maps !!! )

I'm heading to Haliburton tommorow as I did a lake in Bancroft last Friday so going to try a lake I have not fished since early July as I know the weeds have grown some there now so gonna give it a try !!!! Then I will see where to fish Saturday & Sunday based on temps & weed growth !!!!! Cheers & fish-on......

I as well have the shimano gore-tex rain suit and it's insulated for cold weather fall & spring fishing and I have a north 49 Canadian tire suit for warm weather rain and they both do well !!! But yes for the colder months don't cheap out & buy a quality suit !!!! The last they work keep you dry and keep you fishing all day in late October in pouring cold rain & wind !!!!

South Pacific Ocean fighting a 1,000lb black marlin for 10hrs !!!!! Or off the queen Charlotte islands for 40-70lb chinook salmon !!!!! Oh ya

Otanabee river south of Peterbourough !!

Well I hit a lake in the Bancroft area I have always wanted to fish and did pretty well for both largies & smallies and have now concentrated on largies as I have got my nickel smallie so it's time to try for a nickel largie !!! Wacky rigged senkos & spinnerbaits as well as dropshot all took fish as well as the huge smallie I lost after he did a 3 foot high cartwheel in mid air throwing my spinnerbait back at me at light speed !!!!! Anyways here is a very respectable largie that was pic worthy !!! Not quite a nickel but close !!!! The hunt continues !!!

. Yes same way I always do it wacky rig weedless hook !!!! Pretty simple & deadly all the time sometimes weight the hook sometimes don't or just use a 1/8oz jig head and the little rubber 0 ring all the time !!!!

As mike says there is trout in the river and I believe further down there is a really good stretch for fly fishing I have seen guys fly fishing there before and I think there's brown trout as well in a section mike if I'm not mistaken ?? South of Scott's dam ?? But anywhere along that stretch of river you should have fun with a fly rod and lots of areas to hit too !!!! Good luck

Bancroft area lake tommorow ,then I just randomly pick another 2 lakes it's what I always do !!!! Just get up at 3am and start driving !!!!! It's awesome I just keep fishing different lakes all the time !!!! So many lakes so little time

Wish every summer was this way !!!! Love it !!! Ya it's nice to be able to spend 12hrs in the boat on the lake and not COOK TO DEATH !!!! Great for sleeping in and working in !!!!

Huh !!! That's the new police boat that's on sturgeon lake it has a permanent dock at one of the local marinas by going through 2 locks they can cover from balsam lake to the west and to buckhorn in the east !!! That boat is only a year old too !!!! I see them all the time and there is probly a ton of hours on by now !!!! Ya should have got a Yammy !!! Good one !!! Lol
