  8. hi gerrit, been there done that,i took a guys advice and did what you are talking about and pleaded guilty with an explanation and they said that they would reduce the fine amount but the demerit points will still stand regardless.so think twice before you do that if you dont want your insurance to go up.......
  9. hi cityfisher,i have a dave genz fish trap 2 pro-guide portable its an awsome hut weighs about 46lbs and is so easy ,its the tip-down model so what i did with mine was to sew a zipper in the front so once the hut is down.i dont have to tip it up to get out,i just use the zipper that way i can pack snow around the sides and what a difference it keeps the heat in and makes it dark to its amazing....oh ya and the bottom is also the tobbogan part so it holds my auger inside and all my gear then i put the cover on it and away i go,it also has 2 sliding seats inside that fold down it was about $600, had it about 5 years now...check them out on-line google the name and see what comes out.its a little bit more $ but its worth every dime.....good luck in your decision......hope i helped a little shawn
  10. well guys i checked the oshawa creek, and its WAY,WAY up and like chocolate milk, there id lots of debis comming down as well, wouldnt it be to dirty,i cant see it clearing up by morning, its really high going right over the banks

  12. yes carp i was under that impression as well,it just trolls way to fast ,thanks for all you guys input,im gonna put the trolling plate on it tommorow and see what happens,if that doesnt suit my needs, cause i hear that with the trolling plate your boat can be hard to steer, last weekend at quinte i put my drift bag behind the boat and i could not steer at all. it sucked ,well i might need a small kicker......dam there goes another $1000
  13. wow...very interesting guys,i was checking and even on WFN..all the wal-mart,guys and all the big pros all use evenrude outboards. and the stats do stack -up i think that the evenrude is a better engine.....but there doesnt seem to be any around here i never see them at all and i do alot of hours...how come they are not around, where would you get them serviced ????lots of pros & cons for sure......
  14. good decision, and not going ,well the guys at environment canada now have a wind warning, comming they are saying that in some areas it could reach 100kph,....WOW... thats gonna get alot worse before it gets better...

  16. i use the okuma convector 45 series reels for salmon on lake ontario ive used 2 of them for my wireline as my dipsey rods and they work great ,they are generally inexpensive and have reeled in alot of salmon so im gonna stick with them for sure

  18. thanks for the report & nice walleye pic.....well after this big weather event rolls through in the next few days there wont be anybody on the bay for at least 3-4 days its gonna get real nasty... well we gotta expect it this time of year especially down around the quinte area

  20. the best thing to do is geta charter to fish the lower niagara river ,they have lots to chose from they fish whats called the BAR,where it flows into lake ontario and fish all winter long, its not uncommon to get 30-50 lakers in a day fishing with some of those charter guys they know the river real good and fish are there all winter long....there have been many TV. shows at the bar about lake trout go for it.....hope this helps....there is also a niagara fishin board to help you as well.....cheers
  21. just wondering if anyone has a 4 stroke EFI,my new 40hp it seems will not troll down there is no adjustment for the fast idle and the engine manual doesnt show anything ,or where to set up the speed even in gear on slow i still do over 2mph thats awfull fast for even aproaching a dock or trolling.from the info i get from the manual,it has to be a timing belt adjustment ,it says on the engine that idle speed is 775rpm,and in gear as well ...man it seems fast, just wondering im getting a trolling plate put on tommorow
