  8. Well myself and another OFC member cemilley,a.k.a ernie, decided for the long weekend we would head to my fav walleye spot...the ottawa river..we started at daybreak sat morning ,and the river was very low so we were off to find my honey hole..a really nice neck-down area with lots of structure and 2 deep 25ft holes in the current...and it didnt take long as were into some real nice sized walleyes,we also caught several smallies, and 1 pike,we fished all day sat and figured we nailed about 40fish,we kept several for an awesome shore lunch, and a few to take home, sunday morn back on the water at 5am...and we went right back to my spot and were into the fish again, when ernie hookes into a big channel cat, what a fight..as you can see by the pic he was a big 10lb plus.....we also went over to the quebec side and fished just above the rapids and man o man the walleyes were there too...we both got fish about 3lbs,and continued to hammer them there for a while,we hit a few more spots, caught another dozen fish and called it a weekend so we had an amazing time ate some walleyes, and caught lots of fish....so enjoy the scenery shots as the ottawa river is so amazing...almost all were caught on my homemade worm-harnesses,we did use a few cranbaitslike shad-raps,which was what the channel cat took,we couldnt believe it..as well as bottom bouncers ,and reef runners,.so enjoy. so after it all we had a great time and the fishing was almost non-stop,so i cant wait till i go again

  14. Well glen ill tell ya one thing when i am trolling with a 20lb wire set-up on my convector 30 with a 8ft okuma roller rod...and a dipsey...man when those big salmon hit man its down right violent, man im not kidding it will almost yank you right out of the boat....there is no strech on mason 7strand wire and man its just wicked...i love trolling with that wire...and no its not like what the oldtimers use for lake trout this stuff is state of the art...im gonna bring a wire rod to quinte as well...
  15. Nice pics !!!!! some amazing planes for sure..cool cheers
  16. Gerritt, the guys got everything covered...i sent you a pm about some stuff you need,as well make sure you get at least 2 in-line boards,if they are the offshore brand there is a left and a right....as well as a selection of snap-weights,they are a must, and if you get the precision trolling book,it will give you dive curves and for how much line gets certain lures to what depth...its amazing, make sure you get your reels spooled up with 10lb trilene clear big-game with at least a 25ft flouro leader, its a deadly combination thats what pound test the book uses for all the lures...its the 8th edition...i can show you some other things once we get to merland park as well....cheers

  22. Great fishing report !!!! well that looked like a fun fishing trip with the little guy, its great when you are kept busy with those fiesty smallies, very nice scenery shots as well it looks like a greta spot to fish & swim, its nice and clear as well...i think that you should use a small rapala, for those pike under the brige, they are prob feeding on lots of minnows & creeh chubs,so a small or medium rapala will be the magic bait. ..good-luck and let us know how you do...cheers
  23. Nice fishing trip/report !!!!! nice bass & pics too. ..cheers
  24. Also dont forget......the best river of them all.....THE OTTAWA RIVER....i caught one there about 15yrs ago and she weighed about 20lbs...just a little baby, ministry said she was about 27yrs old,it was like hooking a big channel cat in the current, caught her just below arnprior....ill try to find a pic of her for you cheers
