I have a quantum PT accurist ,and man thats an amazing reel for the price !!!! i have used mine hard for a few years and its great,even for salmon once....but its up to you,if money isnt an option than go for a curado...there is several models of them and range from 270-500 bucks....they also come with a lifetime warranty i think....several of my freinds have them and they will last forever,and are very reliable....just like the ABU's they keep going

Thats just amazing scenery !!!!!! I would love to go out deep sea fishing with those guys for a day and see how to catch all those cods !!!! i watched a guy hand jigging on television for them and man he was getting them,on a squid looking bait ,and he says its the way you jig the rope,that makes them hit...thanks for sharing,it sure looks nice down there. ..maybe someone can show me some day....

Well my bud was talking to to his bud via-cell phone from down at quinte,and its not real pretty....very high winds,big waves farther down,the adoulphuos,reach...they havnt caught any fish,and its not getting any better and that was at 2:30pm this afternoon...i have been on all the updated weather sites,and all are saying the same its WINDY,BIG TIME....i am ready to go,and even sunday its still going to be 15-25k winds from the SSW switching to W unless you have a big boat its gonna be a nasty ride for sure,there has been some fish caught by a few charter boats but they are far & few between,and there is no pattern about them,some fish have been caught at 40ft down,and some have been 10ft down...so they are scattered to say the least,and not much biat to see...so im prob staying home...grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thats good to tell people that plliwog,as that little bay has been used alot...as many smaller boats cant make it back sometimes and can make it safe in there....you dont have to be afraid just use common sense...the reach can blow up so fast ,and because of the lay of the land with the high shorelines on both sides the wind gets funnelled through there BIG TIME.... so always be aware and know the weather and the wind forecast for sure.....the bay is big water and we want everyone back safe & sound...good-luck down there this weekend guys but its supposed to be very nasty on saturday.....and be VERY WINDY...i might try for sunday if the wind doesnt stirr things up and make it to hard to recover....big time front going to come through,tommorow....cheers

Well you guys sure have lots of experience i have seen them as well and I RESPECT THAT IM IN THIER BACKYARD HOME....and will try to not bother them...i think its a matter of common sense to me,and if it makes for a safe happy trip why not take those actions to make it stay that way....just my 33cents worth....cheers

i have been to Lebarons lots of times in markham,and i really like the store and yes they are very freindly for sure,and good deals to be had as well...and if you can find it cheaper they will match it no prob...cant go wrong....but i agree with gerritt,too i just ordered 5 yo-zuri crystal minnows from cabelas,and they took our dollar right at par so i saved prob 25 bucks for sure it worked out i think 6-7 bucks each...in gagnons spots in oshawa they are 12 bucks each !!!!! ya do the math

We could all go to deseronto and all stay at the bayview inn...hgas about 40or so rooms ,and fish all around forester island and around the big brige are in the deep 25ft trench....its a great ice-fishing spot and for people that dont have a sled its a 10min walk...that would be fun too....just an idea....cheers

I thought this would be an interesting piece of information that all us die-hard walleye guys should know...about how a walleye sees different light in the color spectrum its no wonder that the ones they see the best are my fav colors of crankbaits & worm harnesses....so check it out,im trying to find the chart for musky,and their best color is red they see that the most....
