  8. well it depends in wind direction, and some other factors but in a nice big lund like you have you wont have too much problems,it also depends on experience and when you reach your comfort level...there is a website pretty good at showing current winds its called windguru.com and it also depends on where you are fishing out of ,example if you are fishing out of the north shore of lake o, well a south east is brutal,so can be a southwest wind, but a north wind can shelter you pretty good out a few miles or so...as you can see theres lots to know and fishing the big pond you must respect her big time...thers an old saying and its if you dont know dont go !!! and yes i have been on lake ontario for well over 25yrs,and ran a charter boat,as well so its always good to have someone who has experience on big water with you for a few times till you get used to how she is,theres also different types of waves, and you can even get cross-chop,waves comming from 2 different directions...so its not as simple as justguessing a wind speed which is safe....pay attention to marine warnings and if there is any, like a small craft warning dont go !!! as well a marine radio will help as its a continuous marine updated forecast ....hope this helps...and remember always safety first...do not second guess yourself....the day you do not respect her is the day you will die!!!! remember that ...cheers
  9. awesome fishing dude !!!well done....
  10. fenchmans bay, rouge river, moth of duffins creek...man there are a thousand spots just all around the GTA !!!!!
  11. pretty much anytime of the year rich !! but it gets dicey in januaray basicly at the launch more than the lake itself, its more so an 10month type thing but its easily accessed and yes they are always there bud !!!
  12. i have 4 sets of boards 3 offshores and one set of church boards and each perform great,i dont have a preference other than yes the church set is a bit cheaper for sure, but i think for big rough water the offshores have an advantage they seem to handle it better, and i use them in the fall on quinte, and on lake ontario for salmon....many years of pulling both around and they are awesome !!!!
  13. well rich depepnding on where you are located ??? go to the niagra river mout and you will catch them on the bar all day long, its easily accesible in a medium sized boat and no special tackle is required,or come to ontario, and fish some central ontario lakes and have a blast with them or wait till spring ice out here and just flatline for them, theres lots of choices you can make on this one....even upper new york state has lots of them...its closer for you to go there pm.me if ya want some more info...cheers
  14. as usual steve !!! some brutes there bud !!..cheers

  19. well what will happen now is that the rock bass will take over the lake as has happened near bancroft in lots of smaller lakes where all the big largies have been raped out from !!! i have seen it happen several times wait 3 years there will be a milliuon rock bass there....just sayin thats what happens when idiots do that crap to a small lake.....
  20. awesome report !!! some very nice walleyes for sure, great pics too !!
  21. man thats one of north americas prime walleye areas, fish for them....and thats when they will be there big time....or use some of your muskie tactics and fish for pike...theres some very decent ones there for sure...if you have a boat go about half hour north...or east into the st.lawrence,or over to west lake, lots of spots real close, but man try for a walleye of a lifetime,....give us some more info and i can give ya more details...cheers
  22. well that sucks as i own 3 new stradics, lots of curados, and a new stradic ci4 as well.!!! i have always been a shimano guy,and yes i have some symetres,as well as a few saros rells too,and i have only ever had 1 problem, but thanks thats good to know as a stradic would be as high priced reeel as i think i would ever own....but its not right as shimano has always been very good to their customers.....im going to fire them off,an email...at least carry parts for the medium,to high cost reels....thanks for the info....cheers
