  1. Paint the mailbox that will confuse them In the mid 70s I moved into a Mississauga neighbourhood (single family homes) in ten years the demographics changed and these single family were now two or three and the first thing that happened hedges on lawns were removed (wider driveway) and cars parked in their place; no paving! But I guess not paving got around the problem. I wish someone would have enforced the bylaws if there were any back then . . . We didn't stay long.

  13. Anglers in Cambridgeshire are mourning the death of what is believed to be Britain's biggest common carp. Nicknamed Benson, the carp swam in the Bluebell Lakes at Oundle near Peterborough, but was found floating on the surface poisoned by uncooked nuts. He was introduced into the lakes in 1995, and at the time of his death weighed 64lb (29kg), was aged between 20 and 25 and had been caught 63 times. Now Benson is lying in a deep freeze waiting to be be put on display. 'People's fish' Tony Bridgefoot, owner of Bluebell Lakes, told BBC News that he thought the fact anglers did not have to join an expensive fishing syndicate but could fish on a day ticket meant the carp was accessible to everyone, making Benson "the people's fish". "They sort of adopted it and took it to their hearts, and if you were lucky enough to catch the fish or even see the fish it was perfectly clear what a beautiful creature it was. "Some people would catch it within two or three days of fishing here and I've had some people who've spent five, six, seven years just to try and catch that one fish." Mr Bridgefoot believes Benson was poisoned by uncooked nuts, which are toxic to fish. "Our suspicions arose when we found some uncooked nuts in the margins and we found some uncooked nuts in the skips that we use. "Consequently we're very suspicious that some uncooked bait may have gone in the water. "Benson may have picked them up and in that case they would swell up inside the fish. "The outcome is catastrophic."

  16. CALGARY (CBC) - A resident from Deline, N.W.T., out fishing with his son last Friday got more than he bargained for when he netted a fish that weighed approximately 38 kilograms (83 pounds). George Kenny and his son Jordon, 13, caught the huge trout while fishing near Broken Plate Creek along the Great Bear Lake. The lake is home to the biggest lake trout in the world. Kenny said his son was a bit startled when he first spotted the large trout. He was kind of scared of it, Kenny told CBC News on Monday. But I told him its only a bit alive. Its not going to do nothing. Kenny said the trout was badly tangled in the net. He tried to return the fish to the water but it wouldn't come around. So he brought it back to Deline and weighed it. Word of the large catch quickly spread through the community. People came out to see and photograph the giant fish. Kenny said he caught an even bigger trout last year but he returned that one to the water. The Deline Land Corporation plans to mount the fish, Kenny said.
