  1. They had the chair of the event on the fan 590 last night. Man, what a used car salesman. According to him, the pan am games will make all of our lives 100% better and we should all be thankful they are here. Oh. And they proceeds will make everyone rich. What a joke.
  2. 100% yes. About 4 years ago I traveled to Hearst for some fishing. Usually I easily get a pike every cast with lots of walleye but the fishing was ultra slow. On the shore was a pile of dead mayflies. I asked someone later in the weekend if they wanted my minnows and they said 'no'. The fish just won't hit'. I drove 2 more hours to Long Lac and had a blast but with the fish stuffed they were so lethargic and full it was super hard to get a strike.
  3. A minus player on a team that only made the playoffs once in the last 11 years? What kind of witchcraft would possibly cause that? Come on guys. The player made the team bad and the team made the player look worse. Those who say they would trade Kessel and Phaneuf for a bag of pucks are just ignorant.
  4. I have the nucanoe 12 foot frontier and it's the best. I have fished Rice lake to Simcoe, the Toronto islands and every little lake from here to Muskoka. I can load if myself on my car, it easily sits 2 people and I have had me and my 250 pound buddy both sitting on the same edge without it tipping. I added a few captains chairs and a 30lb thrust Ming Kota trolling motor for luxury and I wouldn't trade it now for any boat out there.
  5. Kessel was clearly a dump. They didn't get full value for him, they didn't hold out until he was of peak value and they agreed to pay part of his salary. Sadly 'that's so Maple Leafs'
  6. Hopping a dropshot minnow off of steep ledges had always worked well for me in Ogliotrophic lakes.
  7. Then I wonder why no one has signed Jeremy Weatherspoon to an entry level deal eh?
  8. Thanks guys. The green fake corn has done me no good. Course I might just be really bad at this.
  9. Ty Domi won that once. Because everyone tried their hardest at a skills competition that there is no incentive to win.
  10. I disagree with this entrily. Rember back in the day, Kevin Stevens used to smoke a cigar on the ice during warm ups. Some of these guys have so much god given talent and they waste it. It's not 'he has a round face'. It's Randy Carlyle and the leafs medical doctors last year saying 'Phil Kessel came into training camp out of shape'. These are the facts. I'm sad to see him go and wish we had gotten more for him but their is proof in his lack of physical fitness.
  11. So you prefered our team from 5 years ago with guys who now compete on the amazing race? I prefer neither. Let's just get this next season over with. Actually that being said, guys like Kessel drive me nuts. With all that talent, if they had the work ethic of a Gary Roberts or a Joe Newendyk you would see 50 goals and 100 points almost every year. It's such a waste of talent.
  12. There was no rush to move him. The leafs don't need the money this year the leafs won't be good this year. Let him score 40 goals and be a -27 and when the trade deadline rolls around teams will be begging for him this trade makes no sense.
  13. Do you guys use the 'sweet corn' (aka rubbery plastic) that Sail sells on your hair rigs or just pure corn? I'm thinking I am going to take that garbage off and maybe get me a few carp in the process. Though it does hold the hair rig on really well.
  14. Well for every 'leafs fan' that said they just want Kessel and Phaneuf out for a bag of pucks, they got half of their wish. We didn't get Pouliot (pittsburghs best prospect) we got Kapanen who will be the next Luca Caputti and the first pick is lottery protected meaning the best we can hope to draft is another Tyler Biggs (which we added in the deal) this was a bad bad trade. But hey, at least we got rid of him right? He'll end up with 50 goals playing with Crosby.
  15. I have no problem with sharing my fishing spot with another boat. That's cool. But running your boat into the log I'm pitching at and then standing on said log to throw a few casts. Not cool bro. Not cool.

Haha. Nope. Bunch of kids in a rented tin boat in a conservation area. My favourite spot too.

  16. Why don't the 500 of us just raise (or spend) 200 each. Enough of us sell lures or gear. We'd have the money in no time.
  17. Nice! Some great fishing bud. Teach me your ways.
  18. If this is the lake I am thinking of (between Geraldton and Hearst on highway 11) you are in for a treat. It's sooooooo much fun to fish. I did a report almost 3 years ago on it.
  19. They said you can see the northern lights in Toronto tonight. HA! Maybe with a power outage.
  20. Told the cashier today at bass pro I was fishing in Orillia. She said I needed to fish further north like rice lake or simcoe.......ummmmm...... What?

Haha. Manjo, that's perfect. She also told me I was wasting my time using worms for bass. Where do they find these people?

  21. Oh man. Chad you had a little slice of Heaven there bud. I am soooooo envious.
  22. Thanks for the help guys. I find summer fishing can be a little difficult. Over the winter all lakes are accessable (as long as you don't cross private property) and it's easy to bring a rod and a bait bucket. Over summer it's all a matter of how far you want to portage a kayak plus gear. It's worth it, but the honey holes I have found are nearby. Sometimes I just wanna drive for a bit before I go fishing.
  23. Hi Guys, As much as I love using Fish-Online to find new lakes and fishing destinations, I find myself still wanting more. I wonder if anyone on here has any tips to best improve fishing outings. The reason why I ask is, over the past couple of months, Laughing_My_Bass_Off and I have checked out a number of different lakes and fishing spots. We find a lot of the 'renowned' or 'recommended' fishing lakes are very big and can often be a bit of trouble to find the hot spots or even remain safe in a small Kayak like ours. We would love to find a nice small lake that larger boats can't get into. The problem is that we are finding that Fish Online is not always accurate with its fish species. Lake Trout in lakes that max out in 10 feet, Sturgeon in land locked tiny lakes. For tiny lakes how do you make sure there are species you actually want to target in them?
