All I use is power pro, and berkely trilene. I don't like fluoro, and I have proved many times that it doesn't make any difference at all. For pannies its 2-4lb Trilene, and for jigging walleye, 10lb trilene XL. Everything else is power pro in whatever test I need for the situation. S.

Agreed. They are easier to get the rod out than a rocket launcher style rod holder for sure. They can be tricky to get the rods in them if you haven't used them. My favourite rod holders though. Tough as nails.

Just disconnect the gas line from the tank, remove the end and put it directly into the tank and see if that works. Just by pass the pick up in the tank. EDIT: if it was be I'd just go buy a brand new gas line and go from there. Get one that's alcohol resistant. S.

I think right now the walleye fishery is on a rebound in the kawartha's. I'm catching all year classes of fish, and lots of smaller ones. Last year, I caught some of the biggest ever for me. I know back 25yrs ago, the fishing was great, but we didn't get many big ones. I don't have any trouble catching a meal of eyes on any of the kawartha's, except scugog, but I have seen all the other lakes go through the same problem it is going through right now. I think it will rebound as well. I find musky numbers are down, and I also used to catch a lot of smallies fishing walleye that I don't seem to catch any more. Used to get some tanks off deep weed edges. I don't fish bass though, so maybe they are just somewhere else? S.

I used to hate trolling. Then I learned how to do it right....now I troll a lot!! Trolling sucks if your not catching, but you can catch LOTS of fish trolling if you dial it in. S.

I just heard on the radio to expect the kawarthas to rise a lot over the weekend to relieve some of the watersheds in the hali/bancroft area. S.

Lots of flood warnings issued for Lake O right now. Its crazy high. Kawartha's are fine. No worries there. S.

Land 'O Lakes walleye, pike, lakers, and crappies. I have a 6 day extra long weekend planned at a friends cottage. Soooo Stoked!!! So much fishing and hunting this month, I love this time of year!! S.

I have never just changed out bearings/races. Just get the whole hub assembly, and keep the old ones for spares. S.

I would spend more time worrying about that rig than its worth. One glitch and your in big trouble.

I know an amazing aluminum welding guy, but he is north of port hope, near garden hill. All he does is aluminum, and he has all the tools to do it right. If you want to go there, send me a PM and i will give you his contact. My bet is he will suggest not welding it, but fabricate a piece to make a patch, seal, and rivet it on over the crack. He has done some pretty amazing things for me with aluminum. Jobs other aluminum guys said couldnt be done. S.

Just catch them. Almost anywhere on simcoe right now you can catch tons with a net. I never buy bait. Even better, get some Fin-S minnows. Never use real bait again. I'm not sure where your going, but if I knew I could probably help you out better. S.
