  1. Hahahaha.......
  2. dude.....?
  3. With this late thaw, the eyes should stick around that area a little later. Maybe the carp die-off had something to do with it last season? Or you were just in the wrong spot... ....I had a great season on the kawartha's. Sinker
  4. How far is that diver from the lure? I understand there is no drag.......but not how it is attached to your line and how far from the lure?
  5. I have to agree. Too much time on the road, makes an 8 hour day into a 12 hour day.......it sucks. But if your into that kinda thing........ Sinker
  6. I've been using 50lb for the last 3 seasons, no break offs yet. I think I'm gonna go with 80 this year though.....just because its time to change my line. Go with the braid though.....can't beat it on a casting reel IMO. Sinker
  7. If you don't know.......don't go. I'll be on the ice a few more times this season, that's for sure! Sinker
  8. Hey, if its legal.......good shootin I say!! Can't be easy to dive down 30ft, find a fish, and make a good shot on it!! I'd bet its easier to catch them with fishing tackle! I couldn't dive down 30 ft, let alone hold my breath long enough to wait for a nice eye to pass by in range. Its definitly not for everyone, but I bet the guys that do it, sure get a rush when thier successful...... Sinker
  9. Hey Wildpete, Welcome to the site! I'm also and avid waterfowler. Once duck season comes around, my fishing gear collects dust! Check your PM's......I've sent you a couple links to waterfowling forums I participate in. Sinker
  10. Make sure you get locknuts for those wheels!! I'd hate to hear you got out on the board and the new wheels few off!! I guess the threads on the truck were ok then...... Sinker
  11. YOU had a TILLER? Who would have thought Just don't run down the lake draining water, and forget to put it back in!! Been there, done that Boy does it fill up fast Sinker
  12. I'm hoping the wind is the right way, then I can just drift....LOL.
  13. The launching is the easy part. Just unhook everything, put in the plug, and dump it in the lake. If I have someone with me, i just get them to drive, and I stay in the boat. If I'm alone, I tie a piece of rope to the boat, and to the trailer......back down, tap the brakes, and she slides right off......let it drift clear of the trailer and slowly pull away until the boat beaches. Then tie up the boat ,or at least get it out of the way if there is no docks. Now loading up the trailer is where it gets fun, if your doing it for the first time. I have a sweet spot on my trailer, where I back it in to. I stop just as the end center roller hits the water.........Sometimes my wheels don't even get wet, depending on the launch. I have the winch strap already pulled out far enough that I can reach the boat with it. Get the boat on the last roller, hook up the strap, and winch it on......easy as pie. You run into problems if the trailer is too far in the water, or too far out of the water. You have to find the sweet spot for your boat/trailer combo. I can put my boat on the trailer by myself in about 3 mins. I find it takes longer when someone tries to "help" me. Sinker
  14. Are the threads ok on the truck end? If they look OK, the nut threads are stripped, and your gonna have to split the nut to get it off. Be careful you don't wreck the threads on the truck. Get a drill and drill the side of the nut to weaken it, then wrestle with it to get it off. I bet you wish you'd of just left it alone eh......LOL. Sinker
  15. Sounds good to me Cliff. Let me know a date, and I'll come over. Shouldn't be hard to do my boat. I'd like to have the sticker. Sinker
  16. Me too......I was out monday and it was pretty good for the few hours I fished. I'd say port bolster area is where I'll be, but ya never know where I'll end up from there. Sinker
  17. Thanks for the info!! Sinker
  18. I'd run the seafoam thru it. The stuff works wonders. Try it, you'll be impressed. The mercury power tuner can be used in a Johnson as well, and its available at any merc dealer. It comes in a spray can, and you spray it right down the carb until it stalls out.......let it sit for 15-30 mins, then take it for a rip at WOT.......it always blows my mind how much crud comes out of the engine......and it really smooths out the idle on mine. I do it every fall before I put it away. P.S.....I put seafoam in every tank of gas in my boat. It also works as a stabilizer for the fuel. Sinker
  19. 11.98 km/100 litres.........Um.....that doesn't seem right. Should that be per 1 litre? Sinker
  20. Yup, seafoam! I use the mercury power tuner for a quick carbon clean out......amazing how much crap comes out!! Sinker
  21. last saturday in April. Same as its been for ever.
  22. I have a net in the boat at all times. I usually just grab my fish, but a good one will get netted. I've only used a net on the tribs if its needed to reach the water. Generally if I can get to the water, I'll tail the fish. I don't do the tribs any more though.....too many purists for me........the fish are just fine when landed with a net. Like has been said before, lots of netted fish get lifted over the dams every spring.....I don't see anyone complaining about that!! Every fish at the Ganny is lifted over with a net!!! Sinker
  23. The last 2 weeks of July are great on that lake. Good pickeral/musky fishing. There are some good crappies in there too if you can find them. I like to hit that lake once in a while, because you can cover pretty much the whole lake on a day. Good spot if other lakes are rough too.....its relatively small compared to the rest of the kawartha's. Its a 5 minute drive and you can launch into sturgeon.....or just lock thru. Caught some nice muskies in there! Sinker
  24. Give the man his prize!
  25. Awesome......I love your video reports man......that's the best way to do it!! Thanks agian, Sinker
