Where to put in canoe on north side of Cameron?
Sinker replied to siwash's topic in General Discussion
There is also a spot along #35 where you can put in a canoe. Its just a bridge over a creek that goes into the lake. You can't miss it. Its past the 121 exit to Fenelon. S. -
Bobcaygeon Motel Vacancy for Hip Concert june 25th?

I will be up there for the show as well. Are you willing to camp for the night? There are several parks in the area that could probably fit one more tent. Birch Cove and lilac lodge are two off the top of my head. There are others, I just can't think of them right now lol. S. -
Great day bud! That topwater hit was spectacular!! I get just as excited when someone else gets one, as I do when I get one myself!! Good times!! BTW, that fish was over 40".....more like 43" or so. Good, solid, heavy fish. S.

Are you sure both batteries are OK?? Sounds like your pedal is working fine, you just don't have enough power. I know the pedals suck, I've replaced mine a few times, but when it goes, its usually the steering in one direction or the other, or no power to the prop at all. Seems funny it would run, but only at half power, to me. Load test your batteries. S.

I haven't seen many bass in there, but trout, salmon, pike and carp are common down there. You were in the right area. Might be some smallies in there, I've honestly never tried. S.

I got to see it from the water. Let me tell ya, I've never seen a storm appear that quick. She was dirty. I was lucky to make it to shore in time. I wish I could have taken pictures of the boat ride to shore. Just crazy!! S.

there is nothing wrong with bearing buddies. Most problems that occur with them are caused by the user over filling them and blowing out the rear seals. For some reason, people like to use too much grease. My trailer has a different set up, called EZ lube. Looks just like a bearing buddy, only the zerk fitting is built into the axle spindle, and supplies grease to the inside bearing first. There is a vent on the ouside bearing that lets me know when its full. I've only had this set up for a season, but so far, seems pretty good. No water in my bearings, and i haven't had to touch a thing yet. I still check them every fall though, just for piece of mind. If you ever need to replace an axle, I think its the way to go. S.

If you have a boat, and can troll, I'd just use a worm harness and troll over deep water. If they don't touch the worms, tie a big wooly bugger, or stonefly behind the spinner about 18". You don't need to get very deep, they will be up high. I usually run about 75ft of line out, with no weight on the harness. If that doesn't work, I start adding weight, one splitshot at a time until I find the sweet spot. The Rebel crickethopper, and ugly duckling crankbaits work good too. Hold on, because those rainbows really nail it, and pull hard Make sure you have a smooth drag!! S.

STARCRAFT Just do a search for problems with a starcraft aluminum hull. Good luck! Let me know if you find any........ S.

its got nothing to do with ethnicity, its got everything to do with ignorant poachers. Sure, these guys were of asian decent, but I`ve seen my share of redneck `roundeye` poachers as well. I call them in too : ) I can almost guarantee these bozo`s are out there keeping under/over slot walleyes, and keeping more than thier limit of them too!! They don`t care, and apparently have lots of money to keep paying the fines!!! S.

I was thinking the same thing. I think I might have even been there that day. I'm going to check my log and see for sure. There were 3 guys, and they kept every fish that came over the gunnels. I left a detailed message with detailed discriptions of people, boat and where they launched on an answering machine. I remember being upset that i couldn`t get thru to a real person.....maybe it did work?? The sad thing is, they were right back there the very next day, and every other time i fished up there!!!!! I guess its worth it when they sell for $8.99/lb!! EDIT: Just checked, I called on the 13th and 14th. I hope it was the same, ignorant, pathetic guys I called on that got nailed. Looks good on them. They deserve a lot more than what they got too. Shouldn`t be allowed to fish in this country again. These guys blatently sat there and poached fish in front of a crowd of people, who were telling them it was illegal to do what they were doing, and told them what the limit was. They just didn`t give a rats ass. Then to see the same goofs there the next day, doing the exact same thing, in front of a crowd of anglers AGAIN!! Man, I can`t even say what i wanted to do!!! Its quite clear they don`t care, they were back there fishing on the 16th!! Shouldn`t have a license ever again IMO!!!! S.

weather turning nasty in the Barrie area
Sinker replied to kickingfrog's topic in General Discussion
I took shelter from one at about 2:45, then headed back out on the water, only to be chased off by an even bigger, mother of a storm. Holy moly, did it ever come fast. Barely made it to shore. Got soaked loading the boat. Raindrops like marbles, and howling wind. I wish I coulda took pictures on the boat ride in. I haven't seen the sky do what it did before. Crazy stuff! S. -
I just beat it to shore too. Got drenched loading the boat. Man, did it ever come fast!!! Crazy lightening for the ride home, wow! S.

I pulled a 38"er off a deep weedline this morning on scugog. Water was 73 by the time I left. 70 when I launched. It was nice to get the smell in the boat again!! S.

Exactly! I just can't justify the price, and see no improvement in performance with it, so have no use for it. They say its better, but, who are "they" anyways?? It burns quicker than dino oil as well. If I had an older vehicle, I wouldn't touch the stuff. S.

Should there be a test requirement for acquiring a fishing license?
Sinker replied to crossover's topic in General Discussion
You can have as many rules and regulations as you want, but if there is nobody to enforce them, what is the point? You tell me?? How is a fishing test going to help any of this?? If someone is going to keep an oos fish, or under slot fish, do you really think they give a rats ass about having a license?? I bet if there was a test, there would be more people fishing with NO license, because they can't afford the test!!! Enlighten me with your logic.... S. -
synthetic oils have been known to leak with older motors/seals. The actual molecule for synthetic is that much smaller than a molecule of dino oil, therefore, leaks thru smaller spaces. On the other hand, the smaller molecule will get into tighter spaces and lube them better than dyno oil. I'm not sold on it yet, but I just put synthetic in my turbo engine for the first time. No noticable difference at all, just the price, so far. I run dyno in my outboard, and have for the last 18 years with no ill effects, so why change now? S.

Should there be a test requirement for acquiring a fishing license?
Sinker replied to crossover's topic in General Discussion
I think people who think there should be a test for a fishing license have lost thier minds!! Good lord, we've been fishing since the beginning of time to survive, now we need a license, and now you want to have a test to get that license?? Give your head a shake. We're on a short enough leash as it is! Whats next?? S. -
Yikes! That would suck!! S.

Should there be a test requirement for acquiring a fishing license?
Sinker replied to crossover's topic in General Discussion
You guys are all nuts if you think a test is required to go fishing!!!!! What about first timers, and kids, or joe blow who wants to cast off the dock once in a while. Good lord, your going to make it impossible to cast a line!! The problem in ENFORCEMENT!! There is almost NONE!! I haven't been checked by a CO for years, and I spend a lot of time on the water!!! S. -
My favourite is my 7' clarus, with a diawa whisker 750 on it. Great combo. I have a couple other ultralight set ups, but this one is the first one I go for. S.

Sunshine here now. Good to go!! S.

Yep, its dirty up here in the Kawartha's too. Thunder, lightening and pouring rain. The wind isn't too bad though.....yet anyways. S.
