  1. They have to catch you to sue you.... Gas + match = problem solved S.
  2. FWIW...I run a 55lb PD on my 16ft'er and run 2 31DC's for fishing. mind you, I do a lot of continuous trolling with mine. They'll run longer than I can fish unless its really windy.....if its that windy I dont go out. S.
  3. Those poor fish are going to get slaughtered! S.
  4. Any 31DC will work great for ya. Costco.... S.
  5. Id be leary of that motor not being bolted thru with backers myself. You ever see the bill dance blooper vid where his comes off? LOL Ive seen one come off a mounting plate going 30mph down the lake in a big chop too....scary to say the least. S.
  6. Good stuff Chris! I enjoy the process too....i wouldnt sell it to anyone, but I trade for other homemade goodies with it A bucket filter is the cats meow for us small time syrup guys. Works great! S.
  7. This is another reason to get max HP. Take it out on a calm day. Every boat handles different. It may take you a full day or more to get the "feel" for it. Move some weight around while your at it. I would make trim tabs a last resort. One thing I love about my boat is how easy it gets on plane. Half throttle, even with a full load, and she gets right on top. I went thru a couple different props, and trim settings to find the "sweet" spot though. Good luck, im sure it will work out for ya! S.
  8. Drove all over yesterday. The only open launch I found was in rosedale, but balsam wass ice covered. Sturg, pigeon, cameron, simcoe, and most of scugog are all ice covered. East end of the bog is opening up, but main lake has ice still. Hopefully next weekend. S.
  9. Fenelon is raging right now. Most of sturg and cameron are still ice covered too. S.
  10. Whatever ramps you get make sure you strap them to the truck when loading/unloading. The ones I use are one piece. S.
  11. Seeing as the water is at a record level on scugog, I have a bad feeling those eggs will get left stranded. I hope I'm wrong, but in my experience, years with really high water are the worste for recruitment in the kawartha's. s.
  12. Were you swamped from the side, or the transom? S.
  13. Considering most of the lake is still ice, I would say yes lol S.
  14. Yeah, but you get double the mileage LOL S.
  15. I wouldn't say quinte is in a decline. Did you fish it like 10 yrs ago? Its come back a lot since then. S.
  16. I was hoping you would tell your story here. I was really curious to know what happened that day. Was your bilge pump working? It almost sounds like you had unknown water in the hull when you got hit by the big wave. It was a very bad day out there, that's for sure, but for a boat to completely sink to the bottom isn't right. I hope you sue their butts off, and put that company out of business. Its not the first Tracker boat I've heard of that has sunk like a stone, and probably not the last either. I'm pretty sure its the Canadian Coast Guard who tests all boats for level floatation, so I would probably start there. If they don't know, go to the US coast guard and ask some quistions. S.
  17. pigeon and scugog are better. S.
  18. http://www.pc.gc.ca/lhn-nhs/on/trentsevern/visit/ne-wl/trent_e.asp This link will give you all the water levels for each lock in the trent severn. S
  19. Take a video S.
  20. At least double Art. Two bottles of crown for a bottle of syrup. I like Gibons myself, but crown will do in a pinch S.
  21. Sturgeon is the only lake that can take more water right now. Its gonna rise....LOTS. S.
  22. Yep, its coming folks. If your on a flood plain, prepare. We're approaching record water levels in most watersheds right now. Cool pics Lew! Thanks for sharing. It would be cool to see the change over the weekend. S.
  23. They will. The lakes can sustain a harvest, but they can't if there are year classes of fish that don't make it. The new slot limit is great too, as long as everyone abides by it. Theres enough in the keeper slot for a fish fry, no need to keep the unders/overs anyways. S.
  24. Same story pretty much all across southern ON right now. Fun stuff eh? S.
