Im boiling tonight. Going to start 120L and let it run as long as I can, then re-fill the pan, and let it boil all night. I collected another 60l last night, so have 230L to finish up. Pulling taps tomorrow. S.

All the kawartha lakes are good musky lakes. Pick a lake, spend some time on it, and before you know it, its the best musky lake. Ive been fishing the kawarthas for 25 years, and my favourite musky lake hasnt been mentioned here yet. Lol....funny how that works eh? S.

The trent severn waterway is indeed man-made, but there has always been a watershed there. At one time atlaantic salmon could run all the way up to what is now balsam lake. S.

This country is going to pot. I tell ya, we're nothing but a bunch of whiners anymore. Its making me sick. Sad really. Its been a long time coming, but its about time we stand up for ourselves and do whats right. Those soldiers guarding is nothing but a show. They're really not guarding anything.....just there to make it look good. S.

Still a no discharge area. I used to hunt down there back in the day, but its long since shut down. Come out to the kawartha's with your set up. I'd love to try it. We can take my boat. S.

Make sure you check, and read carefully, the municipal firearms discharge bylaws for where you intend to bow hunt. Also check, and read carefully, that municipalities definition of a firearm. Your playing with fire in the areas you are considering, because I know for a fact it would be illegal discharge of a firearm in those areas. As for keeping it on the down low, I say screw 'em all!! If your doing things legal to the letter of the law, let them as you questions and follow you around taking pics and vids. Ive educated a few LEO's the same way. Even had a swat team show up on a totally legal goose hunt once!! Just read the discharge, and definitions carefully, and carry a copy with you to educate any authorities (or uneducated people). I use seafoam as a stabilizer. 3-4oz (I just eyeball it) per tank. For a good de-carbon I run a full can thru 20L of fuel. I do that in the late fall. S.

Just back from cuba. Cant wait to see how much sap I have to boil! Battling TO traffic now, and freezing rain....BOOOOOh!! Cuba was mint! Not a drop of rain all week, beauty beach, nice breeze and all the booze and food I could handle! EDIT: 170 litres for the week. Not as great as I was hoping, but 4 more litres of syrup at least. That willl put me at around 16 litres of syrup. Not bad, but not great. I usually get closer to a litre per tap....25 taps. Looks like its done here now. S.
