Those really work, to do my job I have to go into people's backyard all the time and after knocking at the door to ask permission I walked in and got friggin drenched by one of those. As soon as the owner heard the noise he came running out to warn me but it was too late!!! We both had a good laugh and it was around 35 deg outside so it was kind of welcomed.

I hold my 14 ft tinny, 2 guys in it with a 3lbs folding anchor( like below link) an 3 ft lenght of chain will help anchor stay on bottom. https://www.google.ca/search?q=folding+anchor&biw=1366&bih=643&tbm=isch&imgil=AUSYk5mMPkE_GM%253A%253BI7MMFhQVdKVOFM%253Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fshoreline-marinedevelopment.com%25252Fproducts-foldinganchor&source=iu&pf=m&fir=AUSYk5mMPkE_GM%253A%252CI7MMFhQVdKVOFM%252C_&usg=__eCF-Cq7wXw4YZTK-iWPqfp-ldcA%3D&ved=0CCgQyjc&ei=0t2fVc-KA4H9yQT2oIDoAg#imgrc=AUSYk5mMPkE_GM%3A&usg=__eCF-Cq7wXw4YZTK-iWPqfp-ldcA%3D

what do you carry for first aid / survival / etc
wallyboss replied to 2 tone z71's topic in General Discussion
If I go in the deep bush I usually bring a deck of cards. If I get lost I just start playing Solitaire, somebody is bound to come up behind me and tell me " That card goes there" then I just pack up and follow him out!! Definitely a compass -
I usually break off the filter and put them in my pocket. Or if I have an empty bottle I juts toss them in there.
-
I might as well be careful then cause I usually aim for right between the two at WOT. I haven't been there yet this year. The submerged (island) is probably 20-25 feet wide maybe if the water was low( the rope anchored to bottom would have some loose in it) and that the buoy was getting moved away by the waves?

If the batteries are being used at the same time either in series (for 24v) or in parallel (for 12volts) the 2 batteries should be as identical (year/ size) as possible. If they are used separately then it doesn't matter, but at 8 years old that battery is probably dead.

Crazy Deal on Buffs!!!! One day only!!!
wallyboss replied to DRIFTER_016's topic in General Discussion
Let us know when you receive them, for some reason I am skeptic about giving Credit Card info to anything that I see on FB, i get those adds every second day. It is a good deal for sure. -
We mostly all have cell phones. And most cell phones you can download a free App to turn on your camera flash and use it as a flashlight. I use it all the time. So if your cheap flashlight in the safety kit doesn't turn on use your cell.

You'll love it!!!

Once in a lifetime walleye experience tonight...
wallyboss replied to mike rousseau's topic in General Discussion
Nice , my surprise double-header was a bit different I was reeling it in and when it got close to the boat I put the net in the water and as I was guiding the 1 1/2 lbs walleye into the net all I saw was this huge pike jump out of the water and straight into the net with the walleye. It was an 8lbs pike. scared the crap out of me. I am sure glad I didn't try to grab the walleye with my hand or it would have been a trip to teh emergency!! -
The ones I had were very similar to those Wolf3, just smaller. They would be about the size of a 5" Rapala.
-
The guy that used to make them was from L'Ange-Gardien, Quebec. And no he doesn't make them anymore. He had given me a handful of them but I never really used them and I gave them to a co-worker that used them all the time for lake trout fishing. Wolf 3, the lure he is talking about looks and works like the cutbait lure you showed there, except the head of the lure had a diving lip on it (just like a crankbait.) so it doesn't spin when trolled.

Google Baitcasting 101, Lot's of videos and instructions that will help you out. I know they helped me a lot. My first baitcaster I took it out for my first time at the baseball field and tied on a 1 1/2 oz lead sinker and I let her rip!!! Only got 1 cast out of that spool of line. Had to cut the rest out with scissors.

thinking of getting a aluminum boat, have a few questions
wallyboss replied to huzzsaba's topic in General Discussion
If it's only a 10-12 footer you put it right side up on a few sawhorses and put some water in it. it should show you what rivet is leaking, I did that with my 14ft. Then the stuff from CT Alumaweld??. It's grey stick that you cut a piece off and then knead it and I just put it over top of the leaking rivet. It hasn't leaked in 10 years. -
Set up one of these in the garage for a few days, or any other similar setup.

Question for the Hyunadi and KIA drivers launching boats

Verify the towing capacity of the Santa Fe? That stopped me from replacing my Ford Escape with one!! -
I did the exact same thing, but my roommate had lost the cap off of the London Dry Gin bottle and decided to empty the rest in our plastic container that we used to keep cold water in the fridge.
