  1. Nice repot JB. As Terry said, I couldn't agree more. I've also had them hammering the bucktail one day and the next nothing. Throw out a grub and they'll hit that all day long. Go figure. Still liking my rock and roll as well.
  2. Cliff - you are really on a pattern. The consistency is amazing (amazingly mind boggling) I wish I had some idea's for you but by the sounds of what you are doing, I'd be doing the same. Sounds like you have some good offers here. I may hit you lake on Sunday with my old man. I'll pm you if we are going and maybe jump in with us for the day. Change of venue might be all you need to get things going.
  3. Well that just sucks. No one likes a thief. I do like the idea of the buried storage containers. Cool video TJ.
  4. I have a condition called Lattice Degeneration, this can lead to a retinal detachment. Lucky for me it was caught during a regular eye exam. I've have several laser treatments to fix the holes and prevent the detachment. I have had a couple of ocular migraines which freaked me out. Looked like someone had taken a knife and put a slice in my "picture". Very strange, lasted about an hour. Sounds somewhat similar to the detachment that Pikehunter described. Pikehunter, good to hear your story and that all went well. Livinisfishin, there are some great doctors out there to help you with your problem. Sometime and rest and you'll be good as new. Good luck!
  5. It was years ago that we did this but if memory is right it was 4 ft to the weight and 5 ft to the spoon. The weight would sometimes stick in the mud. Having the longer leads off of the 3-way allowed time to lift the rod up to get the weight out. The spoon would flutter down on the pause, on the lift is when we would get the hits. We held onto the rods to be able to feel what was going on down below. Heavy action rods (flipping sticks) and 20 pound mono. They didn't have the braids back then that they do today. Dacron was the only one that I can remember.
  6. Nice report Dave. Too bad the fishing wasn't better but always nice to hangout with some good friends for a few days.
  7. Got my biggest laker using a a 3-way swivel, 2 ounces of lead, and the biggest 5 of Diamonds spoon you can get. It was a soft bottomed lake and just dragged it along at a slow speed, in the deepest water on the lake. We picked up quite a few fish that trip using this technique. Sometimes old school isn't so bad.
  8. Up until a couple of years ago I never would have even considered fishing for carp. Gave it a go with with a couple of OFNer's and got 2 brutes in one evening and was hooked. Fun way to kill a couple of hours. Nice report.
  9. Fun adventures with great rewards. Cool report as well, very nicely done.
  10. My condolences Fisherman to you and your family.
  11. Cool camera Wayne! I just have to remember where it is and I'll keep my fat out of the shot. With all the mounts that came with it, is there a railing type mount that might clamp onto the bimini or rod holders that were up high? Would be a nicer perspective I think. Terry - I hope to meet your father some day, just not anytime too soon. I've got a lot of fishing still to do. The troll is in the closest but what do I do with it now?!
  12. It certainly was a great day on the water Terry, thanks for the report. Nice to see the walking of water shot of Lloyd's boat turned out. Very impressive. A few fish caught, tons of laughs and great company, great to see you all again and to meet Wayne's out-law. Learned lots again with Lloyd, he certainly is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the big water. Looking forward to seeing the pics from Wayne's new camera as well but here are a couple shots I took of Terry fighting his fish. I figured that know one would believe us so I better snap a few shots. Thanks for a great day gentlemen!! One more thing, I caught me a Troll!!!!
  13. Very cool. Probably one of the best days of work you've ever had. Thanks for sharing.
  14. The rainsuit with the pin strips is more slimming isn't it. Too bad you can't make it Joe but we'll bring you back a sheepy if you like.
  15. Haven't really experience what you have. I do have a good friend that I fish with quite regularly and if we are in his boat I'll catch more fish and bigger. If he is in my boat it is reversed, more times then not. The sad part is that he just sold his boat so who knows what will happen now.
  16. As long as it's not Will. I've had Terry in my boat before and he even caught a fish! Someone has to stand up for you Terry, you can pay me tomorrow.
  17. It will just be a matter of which port the lemon wedges get blown towards. Could be Quinte or State side, better bring my passport. lol!
  18. Could be a bit of a challenge standing up with a bum foot. Might have to just drive the boat and Lloyd fight the fish.
  19. Nice fish and pics! The kids look like they were having a great time.
  20. Looking forward to Saturday Lloyd. I can't believe that someone hasn't jumped on the Sunday Charter yet. You'll be amazed at what you can learn in a few short hours.
  21. That boat has some serious junk in the trunk that I don't mind looking at. Sweet ride!
