  1. That's just GREAT!! Congrats on the win and the successful week of fishing.
  2. Nice hawgs Steve!
  3. Well said Joe. Good post guys, nice to see all the opinions on the subject. I know that I will never buy a fish from a lake that I'm able to go out and get it for myself. If I don't get it the steak will be fine on it's own. I've had store bought walleye that others have bought and the taste is just not nearly as good as the ones you catch yourself. So for myself, why bother buying it? For a lake that is hurting from both fishing pressure and netting something must be done. But like others have said, what do you do? What if anything can be done to keep everyone happy? What will be done when the resource is gone???
  4. Happy Birthday Paul!! Have a great day!!
  5. Hey Cliff, It certainly was a good day on the water, nice to get you out again. Thanks for putting up the report and we'll definitely plan something for the fall. Can't wait for Nippissing! Will
  6. Congrats to Dario!! Enjoy the new ride!!
  7. Dang! You hiring Dan??
  8. Agreed.
  9. Depends on the year. About 30K one year with the purchase of the boat. This year, not so much. With gas and a few tackle replacements, fly in fishing trip, about $2500- $3000 this year so far. Tackle alone this year maybe $2-300 in baits, plastics, line. Need to replace a broke rod still......and there is still 4 months left in the boating season!! lol!
  10. Most definately talking about Izumi's spot. It is the one near Kinmount. We only caught smallies when we were there. Doubt that Craig is confused since he worked for Izumi.
  11. A buddy of mine told me to look at ground clearance and independent suspension. You may have less maintenance with a solid axle but from my few times riding them, you are pretty beaten up after a long day of trail riding. Far more comfortable with the independent suspension. That is just my opinion. As for a make or model, Arctic Cats use to have the most ground clearance, my buddies machine has served him well for the last 7-8 years. I believe he has the H2 700. Nice machine, uses it for plowing snow and trail riding. I have 2 other buddies with machines, one Honda and one Bombardier, both have been very happy with them. Check out the link that K_F posted, Ask lots of questions, and you'll find something that you will be happy with. Personally I don't have one but someday....
  12. Had the chance to fish the lake a few years ago. We had an awesome day with the smallies, lots of fish in the 2-2.5 pound range. Just one of those days that is etched in my mind forever. Great day of fishing on Bark Lake. When we left we saw a doe and her fawn. Went and fished another lake that afternoon/evening and had a bear run in front of us on the way to the launch. While fishing the other lake we came around a point to find a lady who was topless and sunbathing. Gotta love the quite sounds of the electric trolling motor. Went around the point and into a bay, when we came out there was a girl rowing a boat topless and her boyfriend/husband was fishing at the back. There was defineately some in the air that day. You'll have a great time. Bob and Wayne are great guys to hang with. Congrats on the win!
  13. PM Sent.
  14. The last 2 weekends with the winds blowing from the east, the bite has been on fire!! Lots of fish and multiple species days. Nothing really big but a good 2 pound average for the bass. Scattered with muskie, crappie and walleye. Now that I think a bit more about it, I've fished a lot of east wind days this year and done well. I do hate a north or northwest wind though.
  15. Welcome aboard and back to the sport. Now where are the pics of your ride?!
  16. LOL!! They've been biting like crazy the last couple of weekends. No trophies but lots of numbers (25+ fish days) with a 2-2.5 pound average size. And it wasn't yesterday, it was the day before.
  17. Sounds like a great day, fun report to read. Spent over two years running around in Rangers over 20 years ago and love every minute of it. It wasn't just about the speed though, it was also about the comfort of the ride while running and while fishing. Also loved the storage on the boat.
  18. Hopefully the weather does cooperate this weekend for you. I've been hoping to get out and give it a shot myself but the winds have been a bit much for my smaller boat as well. Just been bassin' instead.
  19. Congrats guys! And a thank you to Maureen and Phil for offering up the goods.
  20. You should try fishing Joey. Might get you out once in a while. lol! Nice shots.
  21. Only if you are under horsepowered I would think. I haven't noticed it with mine but I went from a 20hp to a 115hp so I knew I'd burn a bit more gas. Not as much as I thought though. As for the convinience of taking the tank out to fill it, I just use jerry cans if I have to or just fill up on the way to the lake.
  22. Great report Mike. Love the pics!!
  23. It certainly would be nice to hang out, thanks for the offer Ryan. Will let you know ASAP.
  24. DANG!!!! I'm booked that day but I'll look into changing that. Really want to try and get down to this Ryan. If I can't make it I'll help out in some way or another. Should know by early next week, if not sooner.
