I finally had a window of decent weather to take my daughter, her pup as well as my pup.
This was my boys first time in the boat and he enjoyed it thoroughly.
The target, big Channel Cats. Sadly the big girls didn't come out to play. We weren't fishing 5 minutes when we were into a double header, my daughter's was a Cat and mine a was Bowfin. The next 30 minutes was constant action but few fish over the gunnels. The end result for a few hours of fishing was, 1 Cat, 2 Bowfin, 1 Pumpkinseed and a scruffy Northern.
Finally found the roll desk that suited me. Open to sit on the left ( so I can see the TV still),width fit in the space I had. My PC screen fit with my double stack pull drawers. Nice upper drawers and a pull out table on the right to leave my UV cure lamp when doing UV. Now I just need to keep it tidy. LOL
Awesome report Chris. I see your still sporting the Lund, I told you before and I'll say it again that is a really nice ride.
Thanks for sharing a fishing report
Good news is that manufacturers are recognizing this trend and are realizing that if they don't want their products to to be on-line (or big box store) commodities, they need to protect the little guy.
Last year, Daiwa introduced the "Kage" product line. It features some of their best technology at a reasonable price point. It's only available from INDEPENDENT Daiwa retailers. I have one of the rods and a MQ reel...for the money they are excellent products. I was always a Daiwa fan, but this marketing strategy only reinforces my fondness for the company and their products.
still stop in peterborough pro tackle every single time im in town. I think the traditional tackle stores are dead because they are not specialized enough. You arent going to get far if your competing to sell canadian tire tackle with canadian tire.
The way to survive is to cater to the crowd that takes fishing to another level, which is the exact business model of a peterborough pro tackle or a gagnons.
