  1. Cant believe its been 9 months.... Im truly amazed that when we get up here, its like we never left, a bit of tree cutting to get in and the weathers not the best, but WE DONT care.. the air smells like freedom to me. Had a quick outing last night after putting the dock and boat in (getting tougher every year - i dont know why lol) it was slow but Monique got 2 to my 0.. and she even promised me i could catch the first one. PFFT.. todays another day. Looks like the moved the rain up to tonight and the morning which is a bonus. Doesn't matter though.. I think i just need to sit in a chair and stare at the river for a few days.. seems like its been and incredibley long road.

  2. Was good to see you up there too Freshtrax. Here's the big girl I caught near the area you pointed me to. Think my buddy had his camera on Bigfoot mode unfortunately.

  6. Ok, so I started looking into this data cable for my 2017 40hp Yamaha a couple of years ago. My Lowrance HDS9 graphs have the capability to display the info on my screens through the NMEA 2000 network that connects my two graphs and reads the gps and transducers I really could not find any info specifically pertaining to my motor online. When I bought the cable two years ago, it says 50 hp and up! I finally spoke to a fellow at the boat show two years ago from Yamaha, that really seemed to know what he was talking about. He said it should still work and agreed that if I had the plug under the cowl, it “should” read the data available. Well, finally, after being my overly cautious self (understatement of the year! Lol), I installed it! I am delighted that it gives me RPM’s, hours on engine, rate of fuel being consumed, and probably lots more! Hours was my main objective! I installed a little stand alone battery operated gauge a while back when it was new, but the thing eats batteries! My fishing partner claims it will just be another distraction to keep me from fishing! Lol

  7. I have a 2004 Winniibago 30' class A and love it. I did tons of research (4 years worth) prior to deciding on the class A but I am really glad I went that route. There is so much information to share I couldn't possibly put it all on here. Be careful of very low milage units, they have been sitting a long time things tend to be dried out and seized up. Watch for evidence of water damage, make sure propane appliances especially things like the fridge, and air conditioning are in good working condition, they can be very expensive repairs. I would be happy to try to help if you have any specific questions or if you want to phone me, pm me and I'll send you my phone number.

  8. Only going by my 1987 travel trailer and the new 2019 one I have, I can only say that the workmanship of the new ones is like, assembled by a bunch of crackheads. Windows not sealed, plumbing connections not even remotely tight, when I turned the water on and took the strainers off, wood chips came out with the water. Couldn't figure out why one of the receptacles inside didn't work, well the wires weren't hooked up. Unbelievable. And it's not just the low end models, there's people on the RV forums with complaints all day, all night. Floors are now no longer 3/4 or 5/8 plywood, it's foam sandwiched between luan sheets and covered with either sheet vinyl or other junk. One large lady actually fell through her floor. So, that said, I'd be looking at some of the older well taken care of models.

  11. 1 1/2 cups of rye flour (bulk barn) 2 cups of unbleached white flour 1/4 cup of sugar 1 pack of fast rising yeast 1 1/2 cups of milk, I use 2% 4 tablespoons butter Mix first 4 ingredients dry in a big bowl or big stand mixer bowl Pre heat your oven at lowest setting for about 2-3 minutes and turn off. Mix last two ingredients in microwave safe bowl and heat to about 120F (about a 1 1/2 in 800Watt micro). Mix all ingredients together either by hand power or mixer for about 2-3 minutes. Take out the blob of dough and place on a lightly floured sheet of some sort, knead for about 4-5 minutes. You must knead the dough otherwise it won't rise properly. As you go you may have to add a bit of sprinkled flour on the sheet to keep it from sticking. Place the shaped dough into a greased (PAM) glass loaf pan 8" x 5" (mines a 1.4L Pyrex). Place into the low temp preheated oven middle rack. It will take about 30 minutes or so to rise above the sides of the loaf pan. Take it out, then preheat the oven to 340F, when it's heated, return the loaf pan into the oven for 25-26 minutes. Keep an eye on it the last 3-4 minutes, if the top is browning too much, cover with foil. Take out and let it cool on a rack, use a paper bag to store it, not plastic bag otherwise it will get sweaty. Get the appropriately needed weapons to hold off the taste testers. Enjoy.

  12. Sadly there is no fly in trip planned for 2021. New jobs for a few in our group have us staying closer to home (we are meeting up this evening to pick our 2022 destination though). Bigger outing will be in Algonquin mainly paddling and camping but will definitely wet a line for trout (although I suck at trout fishing) Will also spend some time at the cottage and get out locally on the yak https://www.northernjacks.com/post/summer-2021-plans As always thanks for reading Andrew
