  2. All I can picture is me sitting on a lake jigging and thinking how convenient that someone plowed a nice big path. Hey what’s that noise????

  3. I’d been using Plano type boxes, but wanted a designated box for the lures and this was the option I went with. Three 10 foot vinyl downspouts and a Rubbermaid container. Ten inch jakes and believers are the longest I have and 11 inch sections fit in the box. Now to fill those other spots...

  4. Unless things have changed since I last fished Lake O., 2.4 mph is slower than I ever trolled , 2.75 was the usual starting point.

  5. The engine purrs and runs great but throttling down towards 2 mph especially with the current is tough. Perhaps the prop Is the wrong pitch or something but the install was simple so will see. Not sure if Hamilton Bayfront launch is open to give it a try.

  6. Hi, I used to build custom rods for myself and my friends. The best way to repair that damage is to first buy a cork ring that is used for building the rod handle. Carefully cut out the area that is damaged. Measure the height and width of the cork ring to fit in the cavity that was cut out. Make it fit tight and bigger than the handle so that you can sand it down to blend It into the original handle. I would use 5 minute epoxy ( be sure to mix it well) to glue it in place because when it’s dried, it’s almost transparent. Be sure to apply the epoxy to all the surfaces that needs to be glued together. It’s important to wipe away any excessive epoxy that Is squeezed out so that it does not show when it’s finished. I use painters tape to hold the added piece in place or you could just hold it down with you fingers until it dries. Let it dry completely before attempting to sand it down. For sanding, I would use a fine wood file to shape it and file it down to size, then finished with extra fine sandpaper. This should solve your problem and you will barely notice the repair. Good luck.

  7. I tried the trowel trick once, worked well until I got a little paint on the trowel. I would use plastic, use a trowel to gently push the plastic under the trim nice and neat then paint the trim, that will keep any paint off the carpet.

  8. We love our AC. It's a '17 Classic 16.5 Yamaha tiller. Works great, tough little boat. Can't wait to get back out there.

  10. I can count on 1 hand the number of times I wet a line in the last 2 years for one reason or another. I too thought I was retired. If I wasn't out on the boat I was wading in the water in our back yard catching Smallie, Perch, Rock Bass, huge Carp or Farm animals. So I decided to make a comeback this year, body is feeling better. So since the StarCraft hasn't had the bottom of the hull wet for 2 years I took it into the area Marine dealer to make sure she is ready to go. My marine guru and buddy as well with my assistance I haven't had to see a Marine dealer for years. The ""Boat Whisperer"" Ted's health has gone for a bad turn this past winter and he sold his shop where we did all the work. He is doing better but not up to helping me or anywhere to do it nice and warm and dry. Dry as in not getting wet. As they say use it or lose it. From draining old fuel and looking into a bilge pump problem those 2 little jobs turned into a $975.00 bill I paid on Monday. But look at all the money I didn't spend in the last 2 years. It is what it is. Now I can take Ted out for a few Erie Walleye this summer. He is also "" The Pic Whisperer"" Can't wait to hit some Perch 1st at Georgina ASAP.

  11. I’ve been waiting to open this thread because January was too far from open water season for me. Now that sports will be wrapping things up for a bit I figured this would be a good night to take a look and share mine. I bought this from another member here in the spring of 2013 and it has been perfect. The single thing to fail was a winch strap a few years ago.
