  3. Bring the trailer up, we'll put it on my barge and I'll put you out on our point of land looking down the NE Arm. 26 acres all to yourself... well other than the odd canoe'r. Water access camping is a legal use....

  6. Why I told Glen to bring it to me... as I have a few rivets. Although returning things to where they once were, before the Daughter's wedding in the hangar last Fall, didn't go quite as smooth as I'd hoped... but I have the right stuff somewhere.. LOL

  7. So I've been seeing lot's of posts lately on the edible wild site that folks have been finding puffballs. Usually it's later in the summer or fall after wet cool weather but these recent rains have triggered them. My normal spot didn't have any but I did see some in a farmers field. Anyway out of the blue my daughter shows up with 3 puffballs for me, two were from a spot she had seen them last year and one was on a golf course they had played that same evening. I usually slice them in 1" pancakes and fry them like that but this time I tried something different and were they ever good. I still cut a thick slab but this time I cubed the pieces, gave them a quick sear in oil and then added a pile of my wild garlic compound butter. I'm doing them like that from now on. Dinner last night was venison back straps and Spanish onion finished with that same butter and two slices of cubed puffball. I know whats on the menu tonight again.

  11. I've been lucky enough to spending a few days on the St. Lawrence River recently and the Hi-Def Relief Shading on the Navionics charts definitely gave us a new perspective on the structure that we were targeting. We fished anywhere from 15-50 FOW and caught some beautiful Smallies, there were also lots of smaller specimens. By no means was the fishing easy but always fun to try something new and catch a few hawgs! The majority of the fish came on a dropshot rig, a Ned rig or a Carolina rig! A Z-Man TrickShotZ for dropshotting, Finesse TRD for Ned rigging and a Diesel Minnow for Carolina rigging were the ticket, still blown away by how long these baits last on the hook!
