  1. They have these safe injection sites where druggies can shoot up with fear of prosecution , maybe they could have an abandoned warehouse where the gangs could go to shoot it out and settle their differences without endangering the public, heck , they even supply free needles to the druggies maybe they could give free ammo to the gangs to help increase the body count.

  2. synthetic drugs crystal meth and fentanyl have basically put that group of society at the edge. The epidemic spread through the midwest of the United States in the early 2000's. Its just made its way to Canada. Theres really no end in sight to it unless we either enforce harsher drug trafficking laws or they all kill themselves off. I lived in the downtown east side of vancouver where they had close to 1,000 people die from fentanyl overdose in 2019. Theres only 20,000 users total in the area. If 1,000 die per year it seemingly cleans itself up. Crazy enough the death rate has actually finally started to decline in BC because the users have basically overdosed themselves off. Long gone are the days of the "local drunk" in small towns. Now you have guys that havent slept in a week with super human strength running around stealing and doing anything to ensure their next fix. Its scary as hell. The beauty of all of this is that Toronto's gun crime problems are also directly related to it. The guys selling all of this crap are the ones shooting each other on our streets.

  3. Mine is a Princecraft 162 Pro w/ 50hp Merc. Mostly I fish local lakes (Eastern Ont) w/ 1-2 people, it's an ideal size boat for that. For getting into the smaller lakes and rivers, I have an old Springbok canoe w/ 2hp Yammie

  4. The past few years I had been having a debate with myself. As my daughter continued to show an interest in fishing and I wanted to be able to do day trips on weekend I kept thinking - should I buy a boat or a kayak? Then my older brother and our friend Mark kept talking about fishing kayaks - interesting Well after a bunch of debating I bought myself a Feel Free Lure kayak and my daughter a smaller Pelican Kayak I am quite happy with my choice - but I will say I think I may spend the $$ and get the pedal drive for my boat - its not a cheap addition but I think it will help with positioning and will help with getting from spot a to b on bigger lakes I have two posts up One on how I chose my kayak and some initial observations https://www.northernjacks.com/post/so-you-want-to-buy-a-fishing-kayak The other about a trip my bro and I took in October to Haliburton to fish in our yaks https://www.northernjacks.com/post/yakking-in-haliburton Thanks in advance for the read Andrew

  5. Hi all, Got out for some whitefish and lake trout. Had not had a laker all year until today. Actually went to the same spot two days ago and managed one whitefish and some pike and lost two trout at the hole, one being the biggest trout I have ever had on my line, felt like throwing up. That first day there were tons of fish around but they were being finicky, so I went back today much earlier in the morning, it paid off! Had around 8 whitefish in the 24” to 27” range, a couple of pike and landed two lakers, the bigger one at 34” and lost 3 with numerous chasers, all that packed into 4 hours made for a fun morning. I was fishing in 34’FOW , pike and lakers were on a 4” tube jig, and the whitefish were going crazy for a 1” purple and white crappie tube jig on a blue and glow 16th oz jig.

  9. Heard it said, maybe 30 years ago in the US, if the FBI was really serious about getting rid of the drug problem, the next time they grab a big shipment of drugs they would lace it with cyanide and let it back out on the street, simple supply and demand, no users ->no dealers. On the gun crime thing, since the 70's I was involved in protesting useless gun control, one figure that always stood out was 51% of murderers were previously known or had records with the police and 49% of victims also had records, probably not too different today, bad guys shooting bad guys.

  10. Yep, I don't care what anyone with a drill battery says, if your drilling through thick ice, in cold conditions, gas is the only way to go. I bought an ion, and I'm not super impressed by it. It does its job, but its too much money. I have a model 30 jiffy that does just fine, runs like a top, and has never leaked a drop of gas anywhere that now sits in my garage doing nothing, just to justify the purchase of going electric. Now, add up the cost of drill ($3-500), clam plate ($120), and auger ($200) and you have 2 brand new gas augers. I have buyers remorse after shelling out big bucks for my Ion. All that said, for the conditions we get here in southern Ontario, an electric auger does fine most of the time. S.

  11. I have actually seen a photo of a 17 1/4" perch from Simcoe unfortunately they didn't weigh it, instead it was eaten. Would have been interesting.
