  3. Capitalism is the decay of our society. It wraps itself in the flags of democracy and patriotism as camouflage to get what it wants.

  6. They sure can learn to recognize baits. My son and I have often found that we get fish in a spot but after a couple of fish it goes dead. Switch baits and go to something like a bucktail spinner and we'll get more fish.

  7. Irons right, fish move all of the time, heck they move from hour to hour. last week I had a tournament and did a pre-fish Friday, hit spot one, had a keeper within three casts, hit spot 2 around the corner, another one, said this is going to be awesome tomorrow. was seeing schools of bait and surfaces all over the water. went back the next day in almost identical weather. And it was a ghost town. Got skunked for two straight hours and had to completely switch my game plan. fish adapt, meaning you gotta too. Different spots, different baits, different depths, different retrieves. Keep switching until you find the pattern. I eventually found the pattern, but by that time I was limited on time and could only find the dinks.

  8. It might be that you aren't doing anything wrong it may be the fish have left for different water. Fish migrate for many reasons. And as has been mentioned what ever bait you use it should mimic an easy meal. Fish are smarter than they look. When fish, and us humanoids, see an easy meal that doesn't take much energy to catch we both go for it 1st. Buffets and fast food places for us, a slow injured bait for fish. Sometimes something like a bit of red nail polish on a lure will trigger a fish as it looks like blood. I've read that fish are colour blind, maybe maybe not. Personally I don't think they are or they can tell the difference between shades of black & white.

  9. I would try throwing a senko to see if there are fish around that just aren't in the mood for chasing. Is it possible your spot gets hit hard by others since it's a shore spot? That might have an impact on your success.

  10. theres absolutely 0 doubt that yammys outfish dingers and pretty much any other senko. But i save my $10 a pack senkos for when it matters and find myself throwing the $3 a pack ones when it doesnt.

  11. Well, we've had 4 trips out with this new 2019 Honda 2.3 air cooled and I have got to say I'm impressed! First of all I got an excellent deal on it, just under $1000.00 all in and a 5 year warranty, RL Sports in Verner were wonderful to deal with! When I picked up the motor it had been fully serviced, tested, and was ready to go fishing. That's service you don't get from the big box stores! Weighing only 29 lbs it's easy to transport which makes it ideal for getting into those little back lakes. It fits easily into a cargo bag on the back of our ATV's, no need for special brackets or mounts and being stored in the cargo bag keeps it clean when running some of those bush trails we use. I was a little worried about how noisy it might be especially after reading some reviews, I'm not sure if they have changed something on the newer models but this thing is much quieter than I expected it to be. At an idle you can hardly even hear it (mind you I am a little deaf) Fuel economy is crazy good, a combination of trolling, running, idling, we got over 9 hours on one tank (about a liter) of gas. East to start: in most cases you hardly have to crank it over, a short easy pull and it's running! I really like the centrifugal clutch system, no shifting required, troll, idle, full speed, it all just flows together. Want reverse, just spin the motor. Being air cooled means you can run this thing into shallow, weedy, muddy, bays that would make you cringe with a water cooled motor. It has plenty of power for what we do with it, two men in a 12' boat and it moves along surprising fast, where we would have spent hours paddling to cover some of the areas we fish we can now be fishing in a few minutes and you're not exhausted at the end of the day. All in all I'd give this motor a 5 out of 5 star rating!

  12. My Father never took us anywhere that had anything to do with the outdoors. But latter in life I took him a few times fishing and even camping once, he didn't enjoy the outdoors at all. I never knew why. I visited Family in Italy the first time when I was 30. My Aunt, his older sister, told me when he was an early teen he and friends had to flee into the woods and mountains to avoid capture from the Nazi's when the Allies were pushing them north east through Italy. The Nazi's were conscripting anyone under threat of death that was strong enough to hold a weapon into their ranks actually training as they marched north. They slept anywhere they could find some shelter in the dead of winter, a fire could give their position away. Some farmers gave them food, water and shelter and some alerted the Nazi's as to their whereabouts, so they came to trust no one. Many of those collaborators went missing after the war was over and some met their fate in public piazza's for all to witness. He never told me about what my Aunt told me and I never brought it up. When I was 13 all I worried about was getting a new bike. If I had to go through what his friends and he did I wouldn't like the outdoors either.

  13. And neither do. It is proven it has no health effects after two weeks. So many scientific studies prove that. Why do you think it was illegal for years. Get a clue anyone that responds otherwise obviously is a druggie with poor morals. I am out of this thread - too many weirdos..... Exactly the decay of society I was talking about if you guys are for it.....
