dave1965 Posted September 6 Report Posted September 6 Hello everyone. A group of us are staying at Pigeon Lake Resort for the first time which is at the North end of Pigeon Lake in the Kawarthas. We've fished Sturgeon Lake many times and did very well with bass and musky, but would love your feedback on Pigeon Lake or even the resort if you've stayed there. Thanks in advance, Dave
Hank Jr Posted September 7 Report Posted September 7 Hi Dave We stayed Pigeon Lake resort it was clean and located in a good spot to fish the top of Pigeon . We are coming up in 3 weeks I'll let you know how we do . We are staying on Buckhorn but will fish Pigeon , Sturgeon and maybe Balsam during our trip . Good Luck Hank Jr
Rizzo Posted September 7 Report Posted September 7 I have never stayed at that resort but know people who have, and they have gone more than once so it must be at least acceptable! Lots of musky at the top end of Pigeon and mid october is a great time to be after them. You should have a great time!

AKRISONER Posted September 9 Report Posted September 9 (edited) tons and tons of musky up north. Did a trip out of pigeon lake resort, everyone got one. Trolled big bucktails. Id argue Pigeon is perhaps one of the best numbers lakes on the entire planet. Catch musky constantly bass fishing. Edited September 9 by AKRISONER 1
dave1965 Posted September 10 Author Report Posted September 10 Thanks guys! I'm so looking forward to trying out Pigeon Lake and I'll let the guys in my group to get the musky lures ready!!! Dave
lew Posted September 10 Report Posted September 10 Just my own opinion but I always found black & orange baits worked very well on Pigeon. 1

Cast-Away Posted September 11 Report Posted September 11 What they both said about the colour! Start at the southwest side of Big Island and stay on the west side. The water gets deeper as you travel north. Good luck!
BillM Posted September 27 Report Posted September 27 I loath Pigeon, besides Balsam it's the last lake I'll fish for muskie in the Kawarthas, lol. No confidence in it at all.
dave1965 Posted September 27 Author Report Posted September 27 Hi Bill. Although I've never fished Pigeon Lake but we always did well with musky and fishing in general in Sturgeon. I'll let everyone know how we did when we try Pigeon in mid October. Dave 1
Rizzo Posted October 23 Report Posted October 23 have you been? I head up next week to give it a shot
dave1965 Posted October 23 Author Report Posted October 23 We fished hard last week with absolutely no luck on Wednesday and Thursday during the day. Nothing was biting. But Thursday evening we got a 44 inch musky. Then the bite got better the next few days and we landed about 5 muskies. We could see the muskies breaching the water but they just weren't biting the first 2 days. Me, I got skunked!!! LOL! 2
Rizzo Posted October 26 Report Posted October 26 nice! That's why multi day trips are so key if you can take them. One day they are on and the next they arent
