Terry Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 I would download this and run it http://trojan-remover.en.softonic.com/download
Joey Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 Ya, it looked to suspicious to open B. No worries, happens to us all at some point. Good luck getting rid of it!
solopaddler Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 I'll give you a hint here....the virus is on Betty's computer. I got one from Betty.
irishfield Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 (edited) Half the people in my contacts seem to have this virus sending emails off their addresses. There'll be a whole slew of contacts in alphabetic order in the CC and it will be a link to something with no other text. Don't click it... or you're next! Edited March 4, 2013 by irishfield
misfish Posted March 4, 2013 Author Report Posted March 4, 2013 Well Im clean, and now going through Bettys pc with the link from Terry. Sorry folks for the problems. I got one from Betty. Really, hmmmmmmmmmm, she was never out of my sight, when we were at Spiels place.LOL Sorry bud.
misfish Posted March 4, 2013 Author Report Posted March 4, 2013 RED FLAGS all over the place. All fixed now. Thanks for the help Terry. If anyone gets another, please let me know. B
misfish Posted March 4, 2013 Author Report Posted March 4, 2013 So how would she beable to send so many, when she dosent have those email addys on her pc? Also,is wireless safe? I have the straight connect from the wall, but she runs on wireless. Why, I have no idea. Should we both be on the land line?
Roy Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 She doesn't need a lot of contacts on her list. All she would need is one contact who would open her email and that would infect all of those contacts and so on...they spread like wildfire.
misfish Posted March 4, 2013 Author Report Posted March 4, 2013 Ya there were family names in the CC that I wouldnt have on mine. Ya know, the outlaws.LOL
bigugli Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 Got hit with the same Trojan last month. Seems the Mrs opened a blank email called iedive. It managed to bypass my AV software.
GreenCanada Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 It hasn't happened to me very often, but if I get a bug like what Terry has mentioned, quite often changing your password and then running a quality anti-virus/spyware program does the trick.
davey buoy Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Brian,I run three free programs. AVG,Superantispyware and Microsoft Essentials.Going 3 years strong.I go places some may not lol. Some shady. So far all clear. Not what your thinking .Glad you got it back.Sometimes not so lucky as you know.
misfish Posted March 5, 2013 Author Report Posted March 5, 2013 Ya,I dont want to know where you go.LOL Check and ran scan again.Alls well
davey buoy Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Ya,I dont want to know where you go.LOL Check and ran scan again.Alls well Good to hear!!!!!!Keeping Terry's tip in my back pocket. Will give that one a run when needed.
Terry Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 That's exactly the type of site that will give you a virus. I think C/NET is a very safe site to download from so don't be scared off people
Musky or Specks Posted March 5, 2013 Report Posted March 5, 2013 Stop using IE as your browser. I id it years ago and haven't had one virus since.
Terry Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 thats just wrong glad I don't think like that lol
Sinker Posted March 6, 2013 Report Posted March 6, 2013 I've had the same problem, and found nothing on my puter. I changed my password on my email and it went away tho...... S.
