crappieperchhunter Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 What an unbelievable fish, congrat's to everyone involved. I'm all for releasing big fish, but a potential world record? No way would I have put it back. (Am I the only one willing to admit that? ) I'm with you on this one Mike. I have practised C & R my whole life. I would not lose one second of sleep over keeping a beauty like that. My one fish trophy impact on the fishery based on my entire lifetime is so small it would be a joke arguing about it. I do however admire and respect there decision to release it.
danbouck Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Guys are already saying that is a fake pic I would have kept it if I knew 100% it was a record
dave524 Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 For sure, if I knew it would crack the 70 lb barrier, putting to rest all the controversey over fish by Louis Spray, Art Lawton and others, I would have kept it.
jedimaster Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 I have a space on my wall, for a record walleye, Bass and musky. Everything short of that goes back. Accept for the odd walleye for dinner.
esoxansteel Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Larry Ramsall wont sleep until the records back in Wisconsin, maybe he should go where his name is and see if he can catch one himself, instead of shittin on everyone elses good fortune.
esoxansteel Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 The story is in the forum section of muskie hunter, as told by Captain Rich Clarke, in his words he was going for the scales and sling to weigh the fish, to put the controverseys to rest, and on his way by the fish, decided that the extra time needed might jeopordize the healthy release of the fish, which fought long and hard, and decided against the weighing. A truly conservation decision
Grimace Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Holy crap. I just saw this guys website. He must have a 'giant musky' dispensing machine somewhere hidden on his boat. It looks like he has been flirting with 60 inches for a very long time. Congratulations.
lew Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 It really is impressive just how many HUGE fish this Capt. Clark has put in his boat over the years. The man definetely knows his stuff !!
Rod Caster Posted November 29, 2011 Report Posted November 29, 2011 Guys are already saying that is a fake pic I would have kept it if I knew 100% it was a record That's what I was going to say... but it usually comes down do milimeters or grams, so how would you ever know. Chicken or the egg? Who am I kidding anyway, my biggest fish this year was a 15lbs pike haha.
Muskieman Posted November 30, 2011 Author Report Posted November 30, 2011 glad to see that there's no fighting ..
BillM Posted November 30, 2011 Report Posted November 30, 2011 There's no doubt in anyone minds that a 60.5 x 29.5 is a 60lb class fish, just how far into the 60lb range we'll never know. I wonder if that old girl still spawns successfully?
