icefisherman Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Well in preparation for the upcoming ice season I've checked my trusty boots and noticed a small less than an inch cut on the front upper portion...not sure but may have done with with my power auger last ice season and never noticed it....any ideas on the best way to repair it as otherwise the boots are serving me very well. Cheers, Ice Fisherman
DRIFTER_016 Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 I did the same last year and put a 2" gash in mine. Grab a tube of shoo goo from Canadian Tire and have at er.
bare foot wader Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 marine goop, which is basically shoe goo, pretty sure it's the same thing
Old Man Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 (edited) As kids on the farm growing up, our rubber boots and the barb wire fences were always a bad mix. Parents would have been broke trying to keep us in new boots. They use to take ours into the local tire shop for patching. It wasn't uncommon to have 4 or 5 patches on a pair before you out grew them. Edited November 13, 2011 by Old Man
Chuck Best Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 Hey Buddy....been there, done that, and the goop is the way to go....waders and my ice boots have both been introduced...lol....TC...Chuck...
GBW Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 and so you have been told shoe goo I have a tube at home for just about anything because it works so well.
Sinker Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 I like the goop a lot better than shoe goo. It will seal anything up. Goood stuff for sure!! S.
icefisherman Posted November 13, 2011 Author Report Posted November 13, 2011 thanks guys. Appreciate the advice, will visit CT tomorrow to see what they have... Cheers, Ice Fisherman
wildeye rainbow Posted November 13, 2011 Report Posted November 13, 2011 I have used Aqua Seal with excellent success on my 20 year old plus hip waders WR
Moosebunk Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Goop or Goo with little rubber patch. The Red Green that sucka down with some duct tape just for coolness effect. Any guy wearing duct tapes on his boots ain't no ice fishing poser. That's fo' shnizzle!
