Pharcyde were so crazy talented. I'm not big on the funky West coast sound, but I love the Pharcyde (and a bit of old Ice Cube).

Yeah they were real good. There's so much good hip hop from the 90's I could never post it all here.

 

I'm going to sound like my Dad here but today's hip hop all sounds the same. Same few variations on the bass line, same dudes all slurring their words trying to act hard. It's just dull and uninspired. I've listened to some Kendrick Lamar and guys like Tech9, but the good ones are few and far between these days.

I didnt get all the way through it, but on the list to get. If you can find it, the album I cut my teeth on 20 some years ago was called Asylum Years,. It's a collection of his early stuff - great collection of tunes.
