Found a Reel

A little while ago I found this reel at the cottage.

 

Anybody have any idea what it is or how old it may be??? It still works fine.

Can`t really tell by the picture alone, but the style to me would indicate 1930`s or earlier.

Awww man that's where it is. note i was born in 1983...

I did some looking and it looks like a Montague "Indian"

Other than the handle the look is very similar.

looks like an old shakespeare spiral cast reel that my grandpa used to use.don't ya just love old stuff

I think it is one of the old Ted Williams.... o wait never mind thats an outboard motor...It is a nice old reel though. Fun how we all look at it and think it is cool but their isn't a one of us that wishes to give up his new baitcaster to use it. I think it is a classic case of how fast technology has evolved the simple fishing reel.
