Thunder Storms, Rod Work and Beer

Spiel

Recommended Posts

Well it's absolutely pissing down rain here in Hamilton, lots of thunder and lightening,

the dog has gone into hiding. laugh.gif

I have a couple of rods I was hoping to apply the winding finish on but it'll have to wait.

The possibility of having the power go out while the rod is in the drying lathe is never a good thing, this I know from experience!

The good thing is we need the rain and I have beer so things aren't all bad. thumbsup_anim.gif

Oh and of course I have OFC as long as the power don't go out. tongue.gif

LOL....I prefer not to create extra work Mike.

As for the rod porn, well I'll have to dig out the camera.

oh come on spiel.

you have beer, so you can spin the rod by hand if the power goes out. :whistling:

Sure I could but the rod lathe is too far from the beer fridge and I need to stay near it in case the power goes out. Wouldn't want my beer to get warm. tongue.gif

If it was my rod I'm glad you decided to take a break. :)

It's a wild day isn't it? Warm and breezy with thunder rumbling. Almost like June instead of early April.

Yep, one of them is your rod Mike, maybe tomorrow. dunno.gif

For goodness sakes Fidel, let 'em in, I'll bring the beer. ;)

Don't suppose you have a warp machine do ya??

I'm in Del Mar Beach, CA right now... pondering whether or not to buy a surf rod and harass the surfers!! :w00t:

Show us some macros and just maybe, I'll return the favor eh! B)

Sweet, she's goona be a nice stick.

In case anyone's wondering and I'm sure Spiel will agree, these Rainshadow XST blanks are unreal.

Right on par with the most expensive Loomis blanks for lightness and sensitivity.

They certainly feel nice and look nice Mike. I must say I really like the Carbon Pearl finish, my pics unfortunately don't capture their true beauty.

I can come by with my DSLR and take some better pics for you...Mind you, the best light to use is natural sun-light...Especially outside...At the river... :whistling:

My door is open to you any time Mike, but you're right,

we should do this by the river, any river. :D

Actually the XST blanks are called "titanium chrome" by Batson.

They're gorgeous blanks.

John check your pm's.

I guess your right Mike, I was going by their RX8 blank line up on their website which I now see are also offered in "titanium chrome", it's beauty for sure.

It is very similar to the St Croix III Carbon Pearl.
