ohhenrygsr Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Anyone get out today in this awesome weather where having right now. Or are you waiting for Sunday? I might just chill around the house, don't really want to get the rain coat wet.
JohnF Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Anyone get out today in this awesome weather where having right now. Or are you waiting for Sunday? I might just chill around the house, don't really want to get the rain coat wet. We've had some serious lightning here in Stratford, and a few downpours with extra large hailstones to spice up the mix. Hope nobody got caught out on the water in that mess. JF
wobbler Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 was out on cooks today for about 4hrs no hits just lots of rain and a few lightning chased me off the water. till tomorrow. hopefully...;-)
Joey Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 We keep getting thunderstorm after thunderstorm here in Richmond Hill. Fishing rod in hand vs. lightening = no thanks Joey
MCTFisher9120 Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 If I didn't have my wisdom teeth taken out the other day and I was feeling well I would be out there fishing right now...from shore of course, bought my self a nice rain suit last fall and only got out to use it once
JohnF Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 We keep getting thunderstorm after thunderstorm here in Richmond Hill. Fishing rod in hand vs. lightening = no thanks Joey Sky's clearing here in Stratford now (noon) and that appears to be moving your way. JF
Joey Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Ya, it did that twice here too already John, then up popped another storm. Actually, as we speak here comes another. I believe these are just pop ups because if you look at the radar, its clear one minute, then storms the next. I'll just go shopping. I'll sacrifice
JohnF Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I'll just go shopping. I'll sacrifice Bass Pro? JF
Terry Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I was fishing a Kawartha lake for walleye but the rain and the lightening sent me packing too bad the walleye were biting pretty good
glen Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Yep we got out but the lightening put us off the water at a little after 9am. We did get our limit of herring though.
irishfield Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 (edited) I got out.. to the hangar.. today, to put the finishing touches on my latest back lake helper... We did get our limit of herring though. Skunked again eh Glen.... Edited May 9, 2009 by irishfield
glen Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 If this keeps up i am going have to take up golf. With the lightening and the rain maybe knitting would be better.
fishboy Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I was supposed to be out today but plans didn't work out as i'd hoped. That being said, one of my buddies just called and he was already on his way back home due to the downpours and lightning.
JohnF Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Mid-afternoon, it's getting dark, windy and cold here. At least I had a long enuf dry spell to cut the lawn. Think I finished just in time. Now I have a good excuse to stay in & replace a few crappy trebles with the Gamakatsus (sp?) that I just picked up. JF
Joeytier Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I waited until the storm was practically right over my head today. Why does that always happen? "Just one more cast. I mean it this time." "MY BAITS TANGLED THAT ONE DOESN'T COUNT" "I JUST HAD A HIT I HAVE TO CAST BACK!"
JohnF Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 If this keeps up i am going have to take up golf. Fishing is less frustrating. JF
Joey Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Well back from shopping - still thundering. We even had hail a few minutes ago No John, BPS was last weekend I should buy stock in that company
Twocoda Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I managed to get to the river today ...went one for one ....and quit cuz i didnt bring a raincoat and i was soaked....was worth it though cuz the little bow put on quit a show in the rain..
KelfuN Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 woke up at 4am... checked the satellite images..big storm coming in. back to bed..
Big Cliff Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Looking out the window, waves of rain blowing across the lake so hard at times I can hardly see my boat house, lightning, gusting winds and there are still boats out there, after all these years I can't figure out why no one ever seems to take a strike. I love fishing but not that much!
ohhenrygsr Posted May 9, 2009 Author Report Posted May 9, 2009 Yea i see there where a couple of hardcore diehards out, you guys are nuts. Tomorrow is my time to shine woot woot
bigugli Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 One hour of chores, followed by a one hour storm break; repear, repeat, repeat. Sure was tough keeping the BBQ lit.
Keenan Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 me and the girlfriend got out today from about 11 till 1:30 we got 2 walleye and 2 smallmouth
Big Cliff Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Keenen, welcome! What area of the lake were you fishing? I live on Snug Harbour Rd. near the Moorings Marina.
hammercarp Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 Got out today. Fished the lake at Charles Daly park near St. Kits. Weather was not that bad. Some rain not too heavy, no lightening but fairly windy. Two dinky bullheads was all that I caught.
