How can you fish with a zero limit? What if you kill one? Now when you release it you are wasting it and breaking the law. You can't keep fishing when you have your limit, if the limit is zero, you can't fish em at all.

I don't like the new laker regs myself. My biggest problem is not the limit but the size regs. What do you do if you have a fish on the ice and hook another one the same size and its going to die. Do you keep it and break the law, do you put a dead fish back in the lake?. From what I understand that is illegal too. We asked a CO that question today at the sports show here and he walked away without answering. Some laws are just downright stupid. But, at least they give the co's another shot at a bust. As for not targeting lake trout and going after different species...lake trout taste crappy out of some lakes...grease bombs, and very nice out of other lakes. And they are still legal to catch

Big Basswood opens here the Saturday after the 4th Friday of April. It can be iffy about getting a boat in, but you generally can.

thats a real good idea...set a trap to hurt somebody sorry that they run into yoyr stuff pikehunter. sometimes stuff like that can be hard to see, and some people are just disrespectfull. I do doubt that any sledder purposely runs into a line though...it would make a heck of a mess wound into a track. perhaps a bit more orange tape would help

snowmobile sliders are UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) we use it in chain conveyors as wear bars...steel wears too fast. Even buying new sliders is cheaper than the price they want for what is sold as wear bars for clams

Worn out snowmobile sliders They are u shaped so the bolt heads are sunk in and don't wear. Call a few shops and ask if they have any old sliders. I once got the ire of a salesman selling a 60 dollar kit to a guy when I mentioned that.

A dog fight is a bit different than a yote fight. They are a wild animal and can be very mean. I had an oportunity last fall where I put a bullet in one. It was down but not dead. My buddy poked it with a stick to see just how hurt it was. I ain't ever seen nothing meaner and there is no way I would step in there to save my dog unless I had a gun with me.

My daughter sent me an urgent text message today. She needs ice fishing gear. Seems she was out last week and ended up with a couple perch and one nice hit. Now she has the bug. All she had was a spool of line, a couple hooks and some minnows. I am sending her some proper lines and a few more hooks. Not being from around there I am wondering just what little goodies to send and would also like to give her directions as to where to fish. She has a car but it will not be going on the ice. She will be walking out there. Any recomendations as to tackle and directions to send her in would be appreciated. In pm if you don't want a spot too crowded. Thanks guys. Dara

See what I said before? If it doesn't affect me personally i should have nothing to say? Just the people directly affected can have an opinion? Thats how we ended up with no spring bear hunt, and its also how we ended up with a gun registry. People saying, it doesn't affect me so I will let the government walk all over the people it does affect. If a law makes sense then fine, but I want to see how the decision was made. PS adda few fries, a salad and some bread, then you can get away with a few less fish I know I wouldn't want to clean 500 sunfish...thats way too many wobbly pops

Why should I have to contribute to the bussinesses parked around a lake to fish it. They are just there to make a buck, and I am just there to fish. I am a resident and I pay taxes, what more contribution should I have to make to play on public property. And why should anybody living on a lake have special preference as to what goes on there as opposed to any other resident of Ontario. They don't own the lake.

Sounds a lot like the elimination of the spring bear hunt. And the only people that try to do anything about it are the ones directly affected. It tics me off that people shrug off so many crappy laws if they are not directly affected but expect support from everybody when something comes along that they finally personally care about.

I don't have them right now but I like sliding in the corners. I have to take it easy on icey roads where the guys with studs can hit it. They have a purpose and either way you have to know your limitations. As I said before for the OP, this is a strange winter and it will cost you at least $300.00 to stud that track. Less than 96 is a waste of money
