You folks in the south need to deal with it...you are the cause of all the excessive regulations. Don't think for a second that there is little guardianship up here too. I get stopped every time I get on my snowmobile and many times on the boat. If I head to a backwoods lake I may avoid getting searched but you can't count on it. I have been heading down a gravel road and stopped by the OPP for a gun check just because I had an orange jacket on.

I was out a few weeks ago and this guy is trolling with downriggers. I was anchored and jigging for whitefish. 80 fow I'm watching this guy and he is pretty close to my boat....I says to my son...watch this idiot....he came so close he hooked my anchor rope with his downrigger ball. 3 guys in the boat...tangled lines...I almost cracked up laughing at them trying to get undone.

Edited to add...at least we are lucky enough to get out...but I think we are over policed in a lot of instances

I couldn't get away from them this weekend. Every time I turned around I went out Friday in the boat and got stopped. I should have told him to leave me alone as I was in US water but I never thought of it at the time. And I have to go out there all the time and he would just get even later. I went out Sunday and there were 4 radar setups in 20 miles out on the 4 lane here. I was doing 100 in a 90 and a guy passes me doing a lot more, right as we are going past the 4 guys standing there taking pictures...nobody went after him. Then coming home they have a ride check set up with 50 cars stopped. Well, don't even get me going about snowmobiles now Happy Canada day...home of the free

The thing is, I was at a lodge last week and we had planned to eat a couple fish for a midnight snack. It never happened so the next day we were at our possesion limit. They said we couldn't fish anymore unless we donated a fish to the camp. It just didn't add up to me.

I could likely find it easy enough but don't have the regs handy. Can you tell me...If I have my limit of 4 walleyes, can I keep fishing walleyes for C&R? Thanks in advance

I got a 3 inch pearch on a 7 inch Rapala last week
-
when have you ever caught a 2-3 lb fish
-
Just ignore them and they will go away
-
The new cabins are very nice. I didn't like it because they actually have great walleye fishing in the lake the cabins are on but they don't tell you that and get mad at you if you fish there. They want you to drive to the other lakes in the area and save the lake for themselves.

Wire the turn signals to the brakes...it slows you down when preparing for a turn

A couple hundred board feet of rough walnut or cherry?
-
Why does everybody get so upset about aluminum wiring. My parents bought a new house in the 70's. It was in a whole subdivision of aluminum wired houses. I still live 4 blocks from there and not one house in the subdivision has ever burned down

You mean Camp Anjigami?

If you want to complain, try getting them to explain why we pay HST on the hydro debt retirement part of the bill. This is supposed to be loans we owe and the taxes have already been paid. I have asked our local MPP the question but was ignored. And, the MNR takes care of the fish...let hydro take care of hydro

US border guards are basically idiots and try to see who can be the worst each shift. There is a law against being a smart ass to US border guards and they try to make you break it.

A friend of mine blew the motor on his truck. He had done all the oil changes himself. They didn't want to warranty it due to lack of proof of service. He took in all his oil and filter reciepts and the records he keeps himself and they replaced his motor....Mike, he used to be on here.

Anyone Own A Bush Lot With A Lot Of Cedars? (NF)
Dara replied to solopaddler's topic in General Discussion
I never read alll the pages so I don't know where this is at but, next time you come to the Sault, I have a couple hundred acres of cedar swamp on St Joes Island...come and yank all you want -
seems to me it was the liberals and NDP that forced him into trying to spend their way out of a recession...that money kept a lot of people working and built a lot of new buildings...it wasn't wasted
-
OK, maybe I'll try that. Its just that they give you 60 days to pay up or they say they will do their own estimate and you pay that plus interest. These guys are such anal asses that they will hang you out to dry. We have had provincial tax auditors at work and they all write their own rules. You can't have one show up and leave without fineing you for something and its generally for doing what the previous guy told you to do. You can't call them idiots or they will play god and nail you worse.

Our government is rediculous...they don't even know what people have paid tax on. I can see on a private sale, but from a dealer...come on
-
Now on the the op topic. 15 years ago I got a boat....4 years ago I registered it because I was putting over a 9.9 hp on it. I got my tax notice today...freaking crooks

Puulease EI is totally self funded and excess funds are put into the general tax account. I remember when the government put the country into a deep recession 20 or so years ago. Unemployment insurance as it was called then was going broke. The government cut the payouts drastically and increased the premiums, and changed the name to employment insurance..beats me as to why. After the country finally got back on its feet the plan was greatly in the black again, so much so that the government decided to rape it of its bankroll. Now, we are in a recession again and the plan is hurting a bit. They are talking raising premiums again and cutting benefits. If they put back the money they stole from it there would be plenty of funding. Employees and employers pay into it. Many employers like it because it takes away the guilt of laying people off during slow times. When you retire you can collect the maximum just as if you were laid off, likely getting you close to even for all the years of paying in.

In your granparents garage, now in yours for 12 years, and you don't know what it is. Does the term "hoarder" mean anything to you?
