Wow Nice fish...Congrats

Pickerel on Nipissing is all I fish for. 6.6 Shimano Crucial mated with a Spirex front drag Quickfire with 6lb test fireline. Love it. Have other combos as well but this is best for me.

As much as I dont like the guy,Tony Stewart can really drive. Its hard to pick a winner in Nascar because of all the possibilties. DanC may have a good pick as well. Curious about Casey Mears too.

Im no expert on plumbing but maybe a suggestion or two. Is your pump kicking on too often or as soon as you turn on a tap? This will mean the bladder is ruptured and will not retain the air in the top of the tank to absorb/create necessary pressure. But you can buy some time by adding air to the top of the tank manually. On the top of your tank there is a schrader valve the same as your car. Just pump some air into the top of the tank. It will stay there for quite a while (weeks) until it is gradually absorbed into the water. The bladder is supposed to prevent the air from being absorbed. If your tank is isolated from the system with a shut off valve it should make the job very easy(as long as the valve functions properly) Not sure from the picture how the pipe is attached to the tank but a couple pipe wrenches could do it. Im sure others here will offer their expertise here yet.

I love the idea of NASCAR in Canada..But to drive to Montreal to watch a Busch road course race...hmmmm dunno yet. Watkins Glen would be about the same distance for me and it would be a Nextel race. Plan to go to New Hampshire this year for the first time...Nascar weekends are unbelievable. Last year a bunch of us went to Bristol and Michigan for our first NASCAR experience. The people were there to have fun and there were no harsh words spoken or arguments at either event that we seen. Pretty amazing considering the amount of people there.

Glad to hear things are improving

"Sad to say but this guy needs to maybe stick with talking the game instead of driving in it. dunno.gif" "Misfish" I like Mikey but have seen drunks drive better than him. Was at Michigan last year and he was in a collision. He backed up to go around and hit the guy ahead of him unintentionally.

Would have been a lot less money if he just used 3 E-tecs or 4 Verados

We have been repairing all makes of automotive vehicles for 14 years. We have kept up with latest technology with continued trade schools/seminars and the latest equipment and on-line service manuals/TSB's for diagnosis. My business is a division of Giesler Marine which also allows us to brainstorm with other talented technicians in the marine industry. All seven techs work together in the same repair shop which also allows us to share tools and equipment. We care that our repairs are done properly the first time for our valued customers. Working in a small town environment that is just the way it is done.

About 10 years ago I resurrected an old 3HP Johnson out of our scrap pile. Siezed piston. Got the piston out and discovered a mean score in the cylinder wall. Wasnt worth a rebore and a new piston so on goes the JB weld as an experiment. Put it on the test tank after the repair and let it run for a couple hours. Still use it for the trip to the duck blind in the fall. Amazing stuff. Dont think I would try it on a larger cylinder bore. The quick set JB is not near as effective.

Hi Clampet. Ya I thought it was the 15th but wasnt sure. Thank you for clarification.

Hi Mittzu. Welcome to the forum. You may want to check the regulations on mid March fishing. I think the season closes at that time. Nipissing is a large lake and it may depend on the species you are looking for where you may want to go. Fishing on Nipissing for the first time you may want to enlist the services of a ice fishing hut rental and guide to give yourself a better understanding of the area. If you are an experienced ice fisherman there are many places to go. I am experienced on the south east end of the lake but know little of the west end. Walleye, Perch and Pike are most sought after in winter.

Another one to add. You've Got to Love Drunk People A man and his wife are awakened at 3 o'clock in the morning by a loud pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push. "Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3 o'clock in the morning!" He slams the door and returns to bed. "Who was that?" asked his wife. "Just some drunken guy asking for a push," he answers. "Did you help him?" she asks. "No, I did not, it is 3 o'clock in the morning and it is pouring out there!" "Well, you have a short memory," says his wife. "Can't you remember about three months ago when we broke down, and those two guys helped us? I think you should help him, and you should be ashamed of yourself!" The man does as he is told, gets dressed, and goes out into the pounding rain. He calls out into the dark, "Hello, are you still there?" "Yes" comes back the answer. "Do you still need a push?", calls out the husband. "Yes, please!" comes the reply from the dark. "Where are you?" asks the husband. "Over here on the swing!" replies the drunk.

A compass would be on my list as well It wont take up much space or weight and are just about the most dependable thing on earth.

The best part of NASCAR? It has the shortest off-season!
Bernie replied to fishdawg's topic in General Discussion
I am looking forward to this season. How will Mears do with Hendrick( I bet he does well) Mark Martin driving a Chevy? wow. No disrespect to the Tony fans (sorry Joey) out there but I think the guy is a psycho. Just how fast are these Toyotas gonna go? The COT car? Lots of fresh stuff. Will be hard to pick a winner this year for the pool. This will be the most interesting season for a while. -
Hi Tybo. T-bone said he had heat when moving. In gasoline engines when you are moving the air flow through the radiator would actually cool it down even more if the thermostat was stuck. Diesel engines tend too cool at idle due to no engine load. As he is increasing his RPM it increases coolant current flow which increases the flow through the heater core. Air can get into cooling systems in a few different ways. Low coolant levels is most common but headgasket leaks can also introduce gases into cooling systems. I checked for technical service bulletins in Alldata today and I didnt find any pertaining to poor heat. In my experience and from what he has explained I still suspect partially plugged heater core.
-
Its possible you may have air in the cooling system but I think the first thing I would check is the temperature difference in the 2 hoses at the heater core. Not sure how accessible the hoses are but if there is significant difference in temperature (5-10 F) between the 2 hoses with the heater on full would suspect a partially plugged heater core. If they are easy to get to undo the 2 hoses and add some rad flush. Let it sit in there for a while(15 minutes) and flush out with a garden hose both directions.

I also use a Normark but this has about an 8" blade with the inside 4" serrated. I find the serrations are great for the cut behind the gill and the tip for the fillet/skinning process.

If I get a vehicle in for a no start condition first thing to do is check battery to make sure it is fully charged. A battery may also have enough energy(amperage) to run your headlights but not enough to turn a starter, this can also be true if there is a poor connection( positive and negative). If in fact the battery is dead there must be a determination of the cause. Lights left on(dont forget about glovebox or trunk lights). So we check for a drain in the system. If no drain is found the next step is to check alternator output. Make sure the belt is tight, these things can draw tremendous horsepower and a slipping belt will not allow alternator to charge. If everything checks out ok it is a battery issue. Batteries CAN short out internally and hooking up another battery could possibly damage it by discharging too quickly. Remember to be careful when boosting or charging batteries, explosive(hydrogen) gases are created. When boosting hook up to positive terminals first then negative (less risk of shorting to frame/body). Store batteries fully charged in a cool place. Cement floors are ok to store on. Years ago when batterys were made of wood storing them on cement floors did cause problems but batteries made today it isnt an issue. ...Not sure if I left anything out... I rambled on too long
-
Are you sure the battery is dead? Maybe it has a bad connection or starter?

Full restitution absolutely. Jail time and tattoo on his forehead "I AM A THIEF"
