Thx guys. I'm a bit surprised that you use spray. I thought that would go all over the place whereas the stuff in tubes can be smeared on specific spots. I have heard good things re that Hotsauce but it seems hard to find. I might wait to find it unless I decide I need to grease reels for the ice.

I'd be worried that the screws would put a hole in the sole of the boot, but I guess it's a matter of using a shortish screw and leaving some margin of error.

I went to Cabela's and they didn't have any but the guy there said that white lithium is OK for reels. Your opinions? thx

Yup---I bought mine because we have a sump pump and I want to make sure I can run it if I lose power. So, for me, reliability is paramount. OTOH, if I just needed it for a cabin/camping etc I would have bought a cheapie.

My bail spring was broken. He replaced it. When the bail is flipped now there is a clicking noise---not smooth. He oiled and greased it which was prob a good idea but I didn't ask for it and it was not itemized on his bill(He said on the phone that he had done it when I phoned to see if the job was finished)

Good luck on finding accom. Your best bet would be to camp. Gets you a lot closer for hiking and fishing

Wow, Brian. That was straight from the heart. I feel sad when someone dies so young and full of life. I'm sure most of us do.But when a fiend does, it's another matter! My condolences to those close to Kevin and who knew him well.
