  1. Winternet is over, folks! The lakes and rivers are all open.
  2. I have a Canon SX20(20 times zoom that I like for children and other wildlife, esp when canoeing). I have had it for a couple of years-(ever since mine found the bottom of the Mad River---you can ask if you like but I'll never tell ) and love it. It has most of the features of a SLR and Canon is noted for its quality glass .
  3. Yes. You can drive into Bottle Lake but to cut down on crowds you'll need a short port into Sucker. Or you can drive to Long with similar choices.
  4. Bah, humbug----costing me a fortune in sunscreen!!
  5. If you still need more PM me and we can talk on phone---I'm a 2 finger typist....on good days!
  6. Well, not quite. The former minister was Progressive Conservative, unlike the current rapacious bunch.
  7. There are lots of lakes that allow motor boats but will just have a few fishing boats. I find that to be a good compromise if I don't want to portage. Crotch Lake(much better than it sounds!) is one. Written up by Kevin Callan and now 'controlled' by Frontenac Cty I believe. You can book a specific site but you'll need to pay. There are also locations in what used to be called the Frost center.
  8. I'm glad you found a canoe, but I don't think you should use "Niagara" and "canoe" in the same sentence!
  9. Who the heck is Ron Wilson? Must have some connection to hockey I guess.
  10. For bass, Big "O"s, esp crayfish pattern. also caught a monster pike on 1---tried to swallow it like a smartie!
  11. Spring has sprung---- the creeks have riz---I wonder where the rainbows is???
  12. BM, My first response to this was "You gotta be kiddin'". Then I looked at a Blue F and noticed the gap in the eye of the single hook and realized that you're quite right. I just think it's a wee bit odd that the Foxes come with a single replacement hook whereas other lures that have a split ring, making it easy to change hooks, don't come with a spare hook. Anyway, thx BM and others others who posted. Mystery solved
  13. The competition for the 2012 Darwin awards is heating up!!
  14. I have a very specific question: When I but theses they have a single hook included in the pkg, but it's not obvious how to change from treble to single. How do you take them apart? Do they unscrew somehow or otherwise disassemble? thx
  15. Wow! They went fast. I guess we would have stood a much better chance if they were Leaf tickets!
  16. Or you could look for a smaller motor e.g. a 2 Hp at about 25 lb.
  17. And if you get there after a good hatch(Mayflies etc) you can forget about using bait or anything other than flies----with the early spring that seems to be on it's way, who knows what it'll be like on opening day.
  18. Well, I have a kevlar canoe and all the gear(Heck, I have several canoes)I, so if anyone is looking for a partner PM me.
  19. I think there's mediation you an get for that!!
  20. If the Leafs won the cup every 30 years or so then everybody would be happy!!
