  1. I don't doubt they're working power. The hole that had about 20 of em floating in it caught all the fish.
  2. Frggin right man! Looks like a decent day on the ice. I've tried many times for lakers on simcoe... skunked every damn time.
  3. That's exactly what they were! Thanks buddy. I'm sure they'd work as bait as well?
  4. I haven't been there myself, but have heard many times that the pike fishing is quite decent. I was thinking of heading there, just didn't know where access to the water was.
  5. Local Waters - Musky, Laker, Whitefish, Channel Cat, Pike over 36" Elsewhere - Dorado, Tuna, Sierra Mackerel, Arapaima, Alligator Gar. Oh and Piraiba Catfish
  6. Thanks buddy! I shall check'r out. Shark fishing on the beach sounds like I'd need some extra heavy tackle. Would be pretty epic though.
  7. Hahaha, crappy buzz man. I'm stuck on EI so I've been picking and choosing the best days to hit the ice... in between the snow storms cuz I get called in for Snow removal.
  8. I have a family vacation set from April 12-19th or so in Hilton Head. Right on the beach, hopefully the weather is good and the beer is plenty. My uncle who's condo we are renting, and lives nearby, will be taking us out on a redfish charter... But, I was wondering if there was any shore fishing nearby that I'd be able to get into. Salt or Freshwater, I'll get myself a a permit for whichever seems best. Any ideas anyone? Thanks for any advice.
  9. This... It's a shallow diver. It has caught me rainbows, browns, smallmouth, largemouth, crappies... Since I mostly fish from shore, shallow diving is usually key.
  10. After a gruelling 12 hours of snow removal yesterday... mostly shovelling... I had a hard time waking up this morning. A little later than planned. I hit the road at about 7:15am, wanted to be out the door by 6:30, but I didn't get out of bed til 6:45. After a short detour, which cost me about 20 minutes of driving around peterborough... oops haha... and after stopping for a coffee and bait I got to the lake at about 9:30. Drilled a few holes and away I went. Didn't take too long to get into fish, caught about 5 in 3 hours. Missed a couple as well. I noticed some stuff that looked like some weird plant material floating up into my hole after a couple hours... but upon closer inspection they turned out to be insects. It looked kind of like a balled up leaf with a small insect sticking out one end of it. Probably had like 30 of them in one hole. Forgot to take any pictures of them, should have though. Any ideas on what they'd be? Here's a photo of one of the fish from the morning.
  11. Holy jeebus! Them's some awesome fish. I need to figure out how to catch those evasive beasts.
  12. My fishing license went down the hole, right after being checked by a conservation officer.
  13. I disagree with lowering the speed limit just on principle. Once they get start lowering limits, they'll start lowering them all over.
  14. Like usual I will vote for whoever the underdog is... I don't follow football at all, so I have yet to know who the underdog is. But I will be feasting upon smoked ribs, rabbit, venison, chicken wings and a variety of other snacks... plus lots of liquid lunch on top.
  15. Sweet jesus! Take me under your wing! Nice friggin fish man.
  16. De-he-hecent! I'll have to catch myself a whitie some day.
  17. Beers on me if you teach me the way. Looks like a brilliant day of fishin
  18. Was out today, 7-8" west side. Beauty ice too. Got skunked though.
  19. I got an M3 Sherpa, great little hut for an affordable price
  20. A few rainbows. That's a 30" rod. I'm still pretty new to the ice fishing game, and have spent most of my time getting crappies and jumbos.
  21. European perch are generally much bigger than our Yellow Perch. I think the record for European Perch is like 6 and a half pounds or something.
  22. More specifically, does anyone know if there is ice on the small back lakes near kinmount and gooderham? Hopefully with the colder temperatures this week, things will tighten up... hoping to get out at the beginning of the new year. Thanks
