Steelheader eh? I'm from the Durham region as well. I've tried my luck at steelheading, I've only caught one... maybe I could learn something from you. I'm more of a bass man myself.
Attempt to cross off a few more bucketlist fish... eg. Laker, Whitefish, Muskie, White Bass, Drum, Bowfin... Try to find a few more people to fish with, not many of my friends are avid anglers.
I'm lookin' to get out on the ice from Jackson's Point in the near future... that is if the ice is even safe there yet... can anyone clarify? I was on VB today, and it's got lots of ice... but it's sheltered so I doubt Jackson's has nearly the same thickness.
But, the main question is, is there anywhere you'd recommend to access the ice with decent parking?
I've never rented a hut on Cooks Bay, but I usually use Peter's ice reports and those are a ton of help. For that I'd recommend him. I've had lots of luck out on Cooks for Jumbos, more so than other "Jumbo" grounds. Anyone know of a decent operator for lakers or whities?
You've made big news man, Ive been hearing all about your helicopter rescue... and have seen a bunch of pictures on the web... including this one http://imgur.com/gallery/apiAmOM
Anyone up for checking out Little Lake in Barrie with me tomorrow? I'm up in the air at the moment, I hear she's safe... but I don't have anyone to go with... so I don't really wanna go alone, especially not early in the season.
Say what you want, I actually like Rob Ford. No other mayor has saved Toronto as much money as he has. I also enjoy his little public freak outs... it shows that he's human and not some emotionless, robotic monster.
Yes, I'm aware of that. We had a back-up plan, land at liverpool if need be and walk the canoe to another buddy's house and get a ride back. We weren't paddling, he had a trolling motor attached to a flat back.
