  1. I'm headed to Utila Island, Honduras for a month in a few days. I'm going to bring a fishing rod and some tackle. Anyone been there and tried fishing there? I hear they have bonefish, permit, grouper, snappers... even tarpon in the shallows and lagoons. Any tips on lures or live bait?
  2. Crazy, Atlantic Salmons are open for catch and release?
  3. I don't really have an itinerary for the trip, just heading down with the family. Boat loads of beer is on the list. Anything you recommend?
  4. Spent much of my summer fishing around the corner for carp, which was productive at times and sloooow at others. Got a few good pike outings in the early spring, and caught my first muskie back in August! Didn't really get out for bass until two trips in September. I also went down to Hilton Head with my family back in April where we caught a bunch of Bonnethead Sharks and Red Drums. I have a trip to Costa Rica coming up in late November, hopefully we'll be able to get out for some deep sea fishing.
  5. Any chances they'd still around the islands?
  6. So cool, is that at the islands? I've been thinking about making the trip down, really want to catch a bowfin!
  7. Any luck fishing the channel? You caught pike from shore in the summer? I've tried a few times, but didn't catch diddly squat.
  8. I tried fishing the channel a couple months ago, didn't catch a lot... brother caught a 1.5lb largie. Other than that some rock bass and perch. I'm sure there's some nice fish lurking around there though
  9. Awesome bowfin! They're high up on my bucketlist. I hear they give an excellent fight
  10. I'd like to go there and catch some. Do what little I can to help out, by eating as many snakeheads as I can catch.
  11. Hahaha, highly addictive eh? I just need myself a boat first, then I can start trying to target them regularly. Man the fight difference between a muskie and a pike are quite astounding.
  12. Spent the weekend up on the north end of Pigeon Lake, and for the most part the fishing was a little slow this year. A few bass were caught, all around 1lb... even the panfish were slow fishing. After the rain had stopped on Monday morning, I decided we'd try trolling for walleye... as the water was choppy, the skies were gloomy. After only 15-20 minutes, fish on! First muskie landed, not a monster... A little shy of 3ft. Definitely made my weekend.

    Carp

Right on man! Nice fat carp too
  14. I grammar good english.
  15. Old ironmaker, at spot was disgustingly littered. I usually take away garbage, but I couldn't come close to removing even a quarter of the trash.
  16. Ventured down to the local fishin' hole for a tad bit over 2 hours tonight. The carp were on fire, caught 7 of them and had 3 other snap my line. Caught a few bullheads as dusk rolled in. The biggest was about 30". I've always struggled catching carp, and usually spend a few days fishing and baiting an area just to catch a single carp. It was a friggin' blast tonight! In and around the 30" mark, biggest of the evening. The girth of it's head A canoeing couple paddled up and started to take their canoe out just as I hooked into one, and they offered to take a picture.
  17. I hear there is some good fishing to be had there... however I am on foot... is there any shore fishing accessibility on the river?
  18. I'll stick to catching big bass, at least until I manage to catch a muskie... If I get one, it'll be pure luck.
  19. Dalrymple is littered with pike as well.
  20. I figured the bubbles were feeding fish, especially when their tail broke the surface right next to the bubbles. Less chum and change up bait might help then? Spawning fish are the ones that are flopping and jumping?
  21. Looks like a great days fishing. Solid carp, and that's a really cool looking bowfin.
  22. Right on, thanks guys. I'll give straight corn a try. Making it my mission to land a fat old carp before Bass opener. Pump Knows, those are some beauty carps. Whereabouts are you located?
  23. I've spent about 2-3 hours in the evening for the past few days, and have seen plenty around. Tails breaking the surface, large bubbles, jumping... I've been using a boilie on bottom with a hair rig, chumming the area when I get there, about an hour in and like a half hour before I leave. No bites. Is there anything I could do to increase my chances?
