  1. I use the Boo Ya, Strike King and Terminators. I use the Terminators where there are a lot of pike that like to kill regular wire spinner baits. Boo Ya and Strike king, I use these mainly for bass because I can bend the wire to create actions.
  2. A whip or flick tip which are the wonderpoles or 8m UK whip I mentioned, use the tip to absorb the shock, (line tied directly to the tip). The one with the elastic uses an internal elastic to absorb the shock, which the line connects to the elastic connector. these are called poles. Now the wonderpole can be turned in to a semi pole, by elasticateing the top 3 sections, but it is a hassle to use. I normally use a float with the wonderpoles, bait is you choice, depending what your going for. Hook set should be a quick. smooth sweep motion. Fighting the fish, well.....I can't explain it, but keep pressure on the fish.
  3. I have the 10' 13' 20'. Instead of the metal eye I use these http://newworldcarp.com/osc/middy-whip-connector-p-270.html, only pic I can find of them. the 10' I never used, the 13' is light and nice to use for float fishing panfish, the 20' I used to use for carp, but it's really heavy. I bought a whip from the UK 8m much lighter. They are nice, but the Wonderpoles are collecting dust now. You will be happy with it.
  4. I really doesn't make sense to me. If you take a hallow ball of wax, and fill the void with scent, put it under water, would the scent be able to get out?
  5. Never seen that, I love the mega strike though.
  6. 3000's with 8Lb Siglon for float/match fishing, but I will be down grading the size to the 2500's soon. The nice thing about the reels is the body is small, which in turn make them light.
  7. 2 of them I've been using 1.5 years and the 2 for carp a little over a year. They are great little reels. The drag knob can be finicky though when taking them off and putting it back on, But it's a minor issue.
  8. Archie, your going to love that Tierra. They cast like a dream, with a wicked smooth drag. I use 2 for carp and never failed me.
  9. I use brad tied a small swivel, then add 18" or more fluoro leader and tie directly to the spinner. The bass in my friends ponds love spinners.
  10. Basically it's bottom fishing, with a weighted cage stuffed with ground bait. The bait you use is put right on a small hook with a 12-20" leader from the swivel. The rod has 3 tips, usually 1oz, 2oz, 3oz. You watch the tip for bumps, twitches, or quivers, feeder is also call the quiver tip. Check out the Daiwa at http://newworldcarp.com.
  11. Whoever is picked, I am more than willing to help out with this project free of charge. PM me if you need anything.
  12. It's a great Match, multi species, total weight. The members are great bunch of people, they give great advice and tips. The Matches are very well organized, and there are some great prizes. The venues are really good. Good luck on the 9th.
  13. Bass Pro carries it, as well as LeBaron. Your taking about the leader material right?
  14. Not a Daiwa, But there on my list for sure. Nice looking reels.
  15. hehe, I got a vote, thanks Mike!. Unfortunately I have crappy writing skills. I still think MJL is the guy for the job.
  16. I second MJL he has the knowledge and the writing skills.
  17. I put my number on the list, and it's the best thing I did. Huge decrease in unwanted calls.
  18. That's sounds horrible. I'm a Daiwa fan and any issues I had were fixed 100%. I've even taken many reels for warranty to the "bicycle shop" and never had any problems with their service.
  19. Great report. Looks like you all had a blast. My crowded spot is slowing down, may be I'll try those coordinates.
  20. Fish Ontario behind the service station on hwy 400 northbound. They have an assortment of Tandem boilies. Hope this helps. Edit: Angling Specialties on hwy 7 have tandem boilies. If you want to order check out a new Ontario carp store http://newworldcarp.com they have awesome shipping prices.
  21. Not trying to start an argument, and I don't know who this Ol' Harv is, but I think he was misinformed that Okuma/D.A.M. makes reels for Daiwa to put their name on, a company that is up there with Shimano. But I guess we are all entitled to our own theories. JMHO
  22. I would go with a Shimano Sedona and a 7' Berkley Lightning rod medium. I think that's just under $100
  23. I've been with PayPal since 2002 and Ebay since 2001. I have 2 credit cards and 2 bank accounts on PayPal. I used to sell, but now I mostly buy, never had a problem. If you use PayPal for purchases it's 100% free, but if your selling, then they get a small %. 7 years with PayPal, I love it, the money come straight out of the account or credit card with no information revealed.
  24. If I'm not mistaken Steve is talking about wheel bonnets. Like this:
  25. The Harbour is great for bass, the best bait I've seen catch bass there is a senko and Mepp inline spinners dressed 1/4oz. Hope this helps. Oh, ya, those Mepps work great on sheephead.
