Fps is funny, the higher it is the more cash you spend. the Phenox is 305fps and the Vortex is 330fps, the difference is the weight, stock, and limbs, but 25fps more will not make a difference for hunting purposes, for 3D target I like a little higher speed. For the $200 difference you can buy some great accessories for the crossbow, broadheads, string puller, string remover, quiver, extra arrows etc... My hunting compound is shooting 298fps and I have no problem getting good penetration at 40yrds. But I never had to flig an arrow that far on an animal. -

You have some really nice choices . I love Excalibur and have used the Phoenix and Vortex, they are great bows, fast, reliable and really accurate with minimal noise when the trigger is pulled. Maintenance, string change and tuning is very easy since it has no cams, so no need for a bow press. I don't know where your located but Shooter's Choice and Wolf's Den have a great selection. EDIT: Sorry, I have no experience with the Barnett line. -

Watermelon 85% of the time, and black/chartreuse in second. -
I use the double hook pickerel rig for perch.

what's your favourite oil and grease for your reels

Hot Sauce or Reel Butter. -
Roy's correct, I got the exact same one on sale for $10 last year and it won't give a full charge. It does charge my cellphone though.
-
This time of the year I use smaller baits like canned sweet corn or 6mm pellets. I mostly use a float set up as there are a lot of shy pickups, which are easier to see with the float. If your bolt rigging, use a shorter hooklink and the shy carp will get hooked easier.

I have 2 sets of the Read Head gortex gloves, they are not too bulky, have thinsulate and are 100% waterproof.

Called and we are not successful for this year, Going to Aurora tomorrow to see whats up.

So they finally went through with it. I heard, well what I thought was a rumor a few years ago, about the membership. Oh well, guess I'll keep hunting private land with no membership fees.

I have the single, more room is a plus for me.

Daiwa hsta, awesome reels for the price!!
-
I have the realtree, and use it for everything including geese. I bought the Read Head Bone Dry C.W.S. with the 2 pc. parka and the bib pants, best suit I own. Here is a link to both: Parka Bib Pants Hope this helps.

I have a pair of Irish Setters Gortex/lether with 800g thinsulate, they are the best boots I own. My Dad has the Rocky complete Gortex with 1000g thinsulate, they were or might still be on sale at BPS. I think Fishing World might have them.

SF, I have the Nova pump and love it. I had it a few years, there is a rifled barrel but it's pricey. I use it for everything but slugs. It's smooth, quiet, light and has the button to change the shell in the chamber only. If you need anymore info let me know.
-
My uncle has the eagle in the realtree, nice gun, pretty light, comes up to the shoulder naturally, and it's a blast to shoot. Personally I love my Nova Pump. Benelli makes some great guns, also look into the Beretta Extrema 2 with the kick off. My dad loves it.

MTBF, the Browning reel are not that great, they are unreliable. I like the Daiwa Tierra for the price, it casts great, it's smooth, and has a great drag. Look in to the Quantum Code, I tested it this year and for the price it's a great stater reel. I agree with the posts above about the Revo S, the only problem with it, is that it doesn't have the external control switch. the S casts great, very smooth and not that heavy. I don't own Shimano baitcasters, but I was playing around with the Citica at LeBaron and it's a great reel for the price $150+.

Thanks Terry, I don't condone killing a musky, and that's why I don't. Yes I agree the regs should changed, I will even be the first to sign a petition. Thank you for the cooking methods. Thanks guys for keeping it civil, this post will go haywire at some point, but that's is not my intention.
-
I TOTALLY agree with you, but I would never kill a musky or anything other than walleye, but I do have the opportunity to try it.
-
I am a catch and release fisherman but I do like to keep the odd walleye. I've tried most fish out there, that others have caught, bass, carp, pike etc... But my dad got a call today from a friend that is bringing over a musky fillet to try, has anyone tried it? If so, what is the best was to cook it? Thanks, Daniel

Mis, Here is the number to the MNR office in Aurora, 1.800.667.1940. The sticker for the doe that you got is for rifle, there should be a zone on there that you applied for. Archery seals don't have zones.
-
The BOW doe tag is a separate seal/tag that for me I have to call in to buy without applying, first come first serve. The anterless tag you have to apply and you get a sticker that you affix on your seal. But that is for non bow and non controlled.
-
I haven't received it yet. I called and they said latest is Oct. 15 for controlled.

Holdfast, I just bought two combos last week. Both rods are 6'0" Daiwa Procyons LINK, they come in 6'6"UL if you can find them. The reels I went with 1500 series, which gives me the perfect balance with no tweaking and better casting distance, one is the Daiwa Exceler and the other is the Capricorn, a little hard to find. The BPS graphite series is a nice rod, but for me it's too whippy.
